You gotta believe they are Buyers now for a potential showdown at Gillette next Saturday night against the Patriots. However, if Pittsburgh takes a big lead in the Sunday 4:30 game against Denver, look for voracious Steeler fans to scoop-in and buy every available ticket for PITT / N.E. match-up. With a good inventory of tix avail. now, you could have an unprecedented caravan of fans traveling here next weekend. 8,000-10,000 yellow towels not out of the question.

Where is this 10,000 cache of tickets you're talking about?

Hasn't the place been sold out for years with a limited amount of tickets available on Stub Hub and other ticket sites?

Can TB12 borrow one of those towels to wipe the sweat from his face in the 4th quarter as he watches Hoyer wrap things up and seal the victory in garbage time?

Money no object: Last year's Super Bowl crowd overwhelmed with a sea of yellow at $3000 a pop.

There is no guarantee they will play here.

going to the SB is something you remeber for a life time and tell your grand kids about going to a Divisional Playoff game in some other teams stadium is not the same thing

Sold mine to someone from the PA area
It was strickly business nothing personal ;)
He made me an offer I couldn't refuse :D
If I can think of additional pearls from the Don I'll be back

You do realize that both teams wear yellow, right?

Well, it all depends if the local crowd want to go to the game or not. The visiting team get about 4,000 seats every game I think. That means only 4-6k more people will have to give up their seats. Not out of the question.

It all depends on whether the local ticket holders believe this team has a shot to win at least a game or two in the playoffs. If a lot don't they are likely to sell to the highest bidders which will be a good percentage of Steeler fans.

Steelers fans are legendary for following their team around. If they play here, there will be a lot of them here. Hopefully a lot of Pats season ticket holders like the guy above do not put their tickets on StubHub or E-Bay. That is where they will be able to buy them.

The new online source for tix that the Steelers fans prefer is ironically a company founded by former frat brothers from Dartmouth living in the metro Boston area looking to go to Red Sox and Celtics games.

It's what I'll be using to purchase my next ticket.

It'll be interesting how many fans in Denver are routing for the Steelers.

Why are there 8-10k tickets available if the Pats sellout every year?

Why do season ticket holders put their tix up for sale?

Who is to blame if 10k steelers fans get in?

There will be plenty of Steeler fans in Foxborough if that matchup occurs. Do not delude yourself otherwise. They always find a way. There were enough Jets fans last year - Steeler fans will make their presence known.

Then we can all blame the people that sold their tix to them...simple as that!:D

Pat's stadium security should equip their staff with yellow towels as a way to signal each other if a fan is in distress - an SOS to other security that they need help. Then, as a security measure, ban all yellow clothing and towels at the game, so that the distress signals can be clearly seen and there aren't any false alarms. Confiscate all towels in the first quarter, and after that, throw out anyone who waves one, give that it will be a blatant disregard for fan safety. And we can't have that!

Over 20,000 Steeler Fans at SAN FRANCISCO game in December.

From 49'ers fan site:

20k+. Probably closer to 25-30k, or 50% of the crowd.

In my experience, fans eager to watch their teams on the road tend to find their seats earlier than the locals. I'm expecting the many still-empty seats at Candlestick to fill with mostly 49ers fans. Still, it's looking like this game will rival the 49ers' game against Dallas for most visiting fans at Candlestick.

Steelers travel better than anyone. Steelers, Bears, Cowboys, and Packers always have turnouts ANYWHERE. Its just not at the stick. Watch any Pittsburgh away game and you will see tons of Steeler fans week in and week out. Its not just a "San Francisco" thing. It happens all across the country when it comes to those 4 teams.

More Steeler fans in attendance than 49ers fans.
