BTW, that was one hell of a coaching staff that the Giants had.

Unreal ... what a seed that was to the future.

Re: BB A Football Life on NFl Network Official Thread

no kidding - lots of SB winners, Parcells, Coughlin, BB.....

Re: BB A Football Life on NFl Network Official Thread

PWP, here's the question, though:

I agree that it was obvious, so....

Why do you think there were so many on this site not only unable/unwilling to see it, but so quick to viciously attack those of us who were pointing it out?

Hey, I myself had problems facing up to the the limpness of the run game.

I liked Randy but felt that Tom's approach to the game deteriorated starting late in 07 as he tried to force the ball to 81 even when teams were in double coverage. Once the good DCs figured out how to stop the Patriots the few good ones, and those very few who had the personnel capable, the pattern was set. Look at Jets game early last season. Two of Brady's 4 picks in a season trying to get the ball to a covered and not exactly aggressive ball hawking Moss.

BB tried and failed to rebuild an aging D with A Thomas, Burgess and limp draft picks like the W twins at CB. He's great but not omniscient.

With the 2 headed TE monster, Welker in the slot and some competence at WR, we're as good as we're probably gonna get given that the speedy Jackson /Tates of the world keep not working out for us. Bill's young legs at RB is another attempt to give the offense another dimension.

I presume the Boat's Maker is Grady-White

Maybe change it to Brady-Delite :)

Re: BB A Football Life on NFl Network Official Thread

Coach has potty-mouth, from time to time.
Oh Em Gee.
:D
Can't wait to hear the self appointed Pariah of morality Tony Dungy arc up about Bill Belichick's "filth filth flying filth".

Re: BB A Football Life on NFl Network Official Thread

Watching this you'd think BB was coaching a 1-7 team the 1st half of 2009.

This is not gonna end well next Thurs.

More F bombs to come!

What a great show. The Giants stuff was priceless, especially what he said about Parcells. :D

I'm going to be looking to see what sort of tie-in/flashback we get with the "cover Moss and Welker and we're done (paraphrased)" comment in the time between the Wes injury and the start of the playoff game.

Re: BB A Football Life on NFl Network Official Thread

Anyone have the scoop on where one can watch this if they missed the original airing? I do not think it is online yet. Thanks.

The look he had when he was talking about Parcells' response to his questions about what BP wanted done with the defense was definitely good TV.

Precisely my problem with the 2007 Pats and thereafter.

It's SO obvious what weaknesses and deficiencies BB was trying to fix. Sometimes his fixes didn't work or may have even made things worse but I much prefer the 2011 offense. I hope that the 2011 defense doesn't under perform my expectations like 2010's D.

It's obvious (maybe selective film editing) that Kraft, Belichick et. al. do have a "laser like focus on jobs" with the hated Jets.

My wife absolutely loved this segment and wants to watch it again. Great theater.

This is our most COMPLETE team I can remember since our last SuperBowl year.

WR, TE, OL, RB... and the depth. good mix of experience and youth too.

LOL'ed at the Mason in-game exchange.
Dungy can go expletive himself lol.

Parcells comes across as a bully which I believe accurately reflects his management style with the coaching staff, a brainy not imposing physically guy like BB especially. The Tuner did have different styles for different players but from the many times I overheard him at Smithfield up close and personal in summer camp he was sarcastic and somewhat funny. Really got on Ty Law his 1st summer but not TOO much as it was obvious the Tuner knew he had a playah.

Dont forget the defense too - finally able to pressure the opposing QB, and hopefully no knuckleheads in the secondary. Ras I Dowling, with Bodden back and a better Chung will help, not to mention playing man vs zone like they did in the SB winning years....

Re: BB A Football Life on NFl Network Official Thread

Looking back, and applying this show to what we witnessed in 2009, his post-game talks to the coaches, and then the players, after that Broncos loss summed up everything about that 2009 team.

We can thank the Lord that it wasn't a year of Brady being miced up!

2008 was still more complete. It just lost the most critical component to injury.

This year's team still has significant questions at WR, OL, RB, S and LB.
