Well said.
Though I still think we could sign Ellis for DL depth. This was more about that subrusher 43end/34OLB we need. I wouldn't be shocked to see him make the team. He's been effective as a situational guy it seems. 4.5 sacks in 11 games with the Texans last year is better than the production we got out of our pass rushers.
Also 5 QB Hits and 17 Hurries with 2 Passed defended in 2010.

Wouldn't be so quick to assume that. From what I've read, he's still a good pass rusher, but has become more of a specialist. Apparently played pretty well for the Texans last year. Worth a shot.not expecting him to make the team
I'm hoping Pats sign Ellis..
Just to see the JI board IMPLODE

It's an interesting reclamation project for the Pats. This guy had 12 sacks as a rookie for the chicago bears. But his production slipped to the 4-5 sack per season rate. Still that's pretty decent. He has the potential to return to his old production if used the right way? I think BB can make this guy look good. Look what he did with Mike Vrabel.
This is great and all but .... can he rush the passer?
ahh, couldn't resist that. :singing:
