I feel like I lost a fifty and found a dollar

Welcome home Deion

Branch is dead to me, imo his antics cost us a SB. He'll wear #81

It'll be fun seeing all the people who were piling on Moss for quitting on the team justify rooting for a guy who held out until he got traded.

Seriously though, glad to see him back. Makes the Moss departure sting a lot less. We have more draft picks than open roster spots anyways, so losing the fourth doesn't bother me.

RIght because Reche Caldwell played so great for us dropping that key pass in the AFCCG....would we have won another SB with Branch on the team? I think yes.

The guy can't stay healthy. Who is to say he would have been on the field for the game at all?

The Seahawks held the Patriots up with this deal. A fourth round choice was too much to give up for the 2010 version of Deion Branch. The only way this makes sense is if the Pat's don't have to take the majority of his contract.

Exactly what role is Branch going to fill for the Patriots?

Uhh...wide receiver?

I could take this trade or leave it.
BUT, to say a 4th is too much is silly.
Especially when we have 2 1's, 2 2nd's, and 2 3rd's.
Seriously.

Yikes... Moss was a "rebound" until Brady hooks up with Branch again?

On the positive side, my official Patriots football helmet signed by Deion Branch after the last Super Bowl victory (tied for the most receptions in the Super Bowl with Wes Welker, also #83) that I got from NFL Auctions just regained some value. :)

Branch = Welker? Just older.....

will Welker give up his 83? Oh the drama for the ink stained wretches...

No way, that's Welker's number and the better player doesn't give up his number to a lesser player. Branch isn't worth a 4th at this point in time but whats done is done.

The price was worth it if (1). he stays healthy and (2). he plays at least two years at a high level and drinks the kool-aid.

Sorry, but I think that's a bit silly. We've drafted 24 players in the last 2 years (I believe). If there's a receiver who isn't in a wheelchair he's worth a 4th round pick to a team needing a veteran receiver.

I don't mean to pile on you, but it's just a general pet peeve of mine. Draft picks aren't money, they are only worth what you can get with them. We have double picks in the high part of next year. We'll end up cutting good young players, plus probably trading into the future. The incremental value of a 4th round pick in our current situation is negligible.

I hate rewarding a traitor like him, but we are draft pick wealthy and veteran shy.

Thank you for a bit of reality.

The armchair GMs on this forum are nothing if not comic relief.

Am I missing something? Not to be too pessimistic, but what's with all the excitement? All I have ever seen from Branch since he left was an oft-injured, marginal player. I know he played well when he was here, but will that be how it plays out the second time around?

I won't complain about the compensation as long as he restructured. I'm glad to have him back.

I expect to eventually see a few posters on "Hoarders."

I'm trying to find out where you see "all the excitement".

I can't believe people are whining about a 4th. Maybe we should bring back Chad Jackson or Bethel Johnson.

This is probably the best situation. A guy Brady likes and has rapport with. I'd have to say we have more weapons than when Deion was here. BJGE is our Antwain Smith.

I think BB has seen the light and is goingback to a grind it out methodical offense. We just need some apss rushing help to assist that secondary.

4th rounder surprises me... glad to have him back though.

doesn't matter what the Pats have in picks...Is Branch worth a 4th rounder?..I say no
