If Moss and Welker can be included then where is Burgess? Where is that failed CB that was traded for a pick? (his name escapes me) Any players traded for a pic(s) should be included.

Deltha O'Neal.

I was responding to someone who'd been denigrating those drafts. I was pointing out the positives as a rebuttal. Posting the negatives would have made no sense.

you know what....all the whiners and fair weather fans need not slip away...THEY CAN RUN AWAY!!!! Good riddance!!!!
Go enjoy the Lions..the Browns or even the Jets..and PLEASE take the Cheesehead windbag with you!! PLEASE!!! What I see is a bunch of spoiled fans who don't know their backsides from a hole in the ground try TELL the team what to do when they are CLUELESS and have the football acumen of a snail....

Good post ... what members choose to ignore is that Bill and co. have access to much more information than we do. who have we let go that was a bad decision/ Vinatieri ... no ... Ghost has been very good. Assante? maybe but still questionable given the money we would have had to pay him. Bill gets it right most of the time because he knows what we don't know.

But they still post the what are we doing crapola.

You homer. ;)

Starting to think McKenzie is done in NE.
There are a few things here..do they really need an ILB as part of the 61?? Might be another position they need a player BEFORE an ILB?? There are many reasons why players are or are not on Practice squads...Who knows what will happen?? Who ever thought Crable would be back???

This was so obvious. It was a poker move.

Awesome, glad to read it, although I was kinda hoping he'd hook on on someone else's 53. I'd like him to succeed on the Pats, but I also just want him to succeed in general.

It is still early...he could join the 53 later on in the year(with or without injury to an LB)

McKenzie could join any team's 53 later on in the year (with or without injry to a LB). We have zero special rights to McKenzie.

IMO right now the Dolphins and the Jets man for man have better rosters and better defenses
This would be the same New York Jets that ranked 31st in passing yards (148.8) per game, tied for 29th with the Rams in passing touchdowns (12), threw the 4th most interceptions (21) despite having the fewest pass attempts (393) and had a QB rating (62.0) that was better than that of only the Bucs, Lions and Browns last year, right?

As for that vaunted Dolphins defense, only six teams gave up more points than they did last year. Their run defense ranked 18th in the NFL and their pass defense gave up 57 plays (3rd worst) of 20 or more yards, and a league-worst 17 plays of 40 or more yards.

Sure, that's cherry picking some stats but I thought given your statement a little perspective was in order.

Let's look at some more selective stats.

The jets had the #1 defense in nfl in 2009.
The jets had the #1 running offense in the nfl in 2009.
The jets had a lousy passing offense with a rookie quarterback.
The patriots had the better team in 2009 and won the division.
=========================================
Q1) Have the jets gotten significantly worse? If so, how?
Q2) Have the patriots gotten signifcantly better? If so how?
=========================================
I expect the patriots to win the division. I expect the jets to be competitive for the division and for a wild card spot. And just BTW, Miami is an aweful team.

I think that poor coaching could tube the jets. However, I do NOT think that they have poor coaching. Coaoching should be judged in the play of games and in wins, not in the battles with the media.

Thank you for stating the obvious :rolleyes:

I was thinking Duane Starks (who was traded for a third round pick).

I was thinking exactly the same thing...

O'Neal was cut by the Bengals before signing here, he wasn't traded for.
