Interesting - Ryan meet with Revis | Revis Deal Done

This being an uncapped year might defray some of the cost to a future cap?

Will the Jets be in cap hell, some have claimed that is where they were going for years, and here they are now due to there savvy management are in good enough financial shape to sign Revis to a mega deal.

Who knows what the new CBA will bring? Tannebaum GM of the year?

We'll see if you still want to vote him GM of the year after an 8-8 year and your making cuts to get in under the new cap in 2011.

4 Years $46 Million - 32 Guaranteed...I think thats the deal or is it still 7 years?

4 years deal
46 million, 32 of it guaranteed

seem fair to both sides

That's not a bad deal for the Jets. It's a lot of guaranteed money, but if they can pay it in an uncapped year and there is no impact to them in the next CBA then they're only hits are the guaranteed money and the precedent.

You see that was my point.

I don't know the business of the NFL, but I do know some have been calling for this NYJ cap hell thing since Tanny took over.

Maybe the Jets will be in cap hell, who can tell that isn't an NFL exec. And even they can't know. So maybe you will be proved right, or possibly wrong.

The GM of the year comment is and was kinda of lame, after all who cares about GM's.

Who this can effect is Harris, Holmes, Edwards, and maybe even Cromartie.
I believe now that Revis is signed that there is little chance of Cromartie being resigned as that would tie up to many $ in the CB position.

Harris is the guy I want out of that bunch, and then which ever WR gells the best in the O.

Waaaaay worse?? Really?

hehehehehehehe

The Revis news seems to be upsetting all the Pat fans!!!!

Outstanding!

Hold up to put this on the record you don't think you offense is way worse than ours?

Because we are at least being honest with ourselves saying you have a better defense.... but please by all means continue to be someone no one takes seriously

All I know is that the Jets had the best running team in the league last year, they still have one of the best, if not THE best OL, they have a top TE in the league, and a trio of VERY good WR's, including two former Pro Bowl players and a SB MVP.

Sure, you have Brady, no question, Sanchez looks to have the goods, a young franchise QB, but to completely dismiss the talent and the potential of the Jet offense is just STUPID.

Are the Pats better? Sure, Brady and the passing game, but WAAYYYYY better, when you look at the big picture? Uhh, NO!!!!

I'm pleased with this news as a football fan. Despite my obvious hate for the Jets you can't help but respect the level of performance Revis has brought for the Jets on a weekly basis. It's a prudent business move by the Jets and an amicable contract on face value for both parties. The sticking point is Ryan obviously saw enough to know that the Jets defense isn't half as effective without him out there.

I'm the type of person who likes to beat an opponent at their best. Revis ensures that the Jets defense will be at it's best.

I can't agree that I am 'pleased' with the news as a NE fan, but this right here, is a classy post, and well representative of our mostly classy fanbase. I am not so sure they'd be saying the same thing over at ganggreen. Well said, and I hope to beat them at their best with our reloaded, multiple weapons at WR/TE.

Tory holt was a pro bowler too. no one cares it's how good you are this season.

You know this isn't madden right? just cause u want sanchez to be the next brady doesn't mean he will be...; we have the original brady and the original moss and welker. I can't believe i am having this discussion.

Btw while you bring up your running game your leading rusher for the last 3 years is in kansas now. But i am sure he was a result of the system right? not shon tho he is a beast right?

totally don't understand why 4-46 was all it took.

Congratulations on your takeoff. Only thing is, someday you'll all run out of gas and come crashing back to reality

yeah i thought revis was holding out for more $$ than that. So how does this deal compare to the namdi one for the raders? average money per year wise

You are comparing Tory Holt at 34 years old to the talent of Cotch, Holmes, and Edwards, all under 27?

No #### this isn't Madden, there is no denying the talent. And Welker won't be Welker right away either, not coming off that injury, only 7 mos ago.

C'mon, be fair, Jets have the potential to be very good, and the Pats are not "waaaayyyyy" better.

The Pats offense could be in record setting territory, thats how good it is. Sanchise hasnt looked to be any more than a JAG at this point and Im not so sure he has the goods, everyone like to say it but that doesnt make it true.

They're no good without the ball in their hands. That's the big question for you guys.
