Jests fans are like Italians, over confident about EVERYTHING. Most of them are probably Italian which makes it even worse.

take a joke guidos! :lol2:

Considering the lack of cojones on most of their players, they should be called the green peas.....in fact , pea could carry a double connotation....tiny balldoonies or puny brains

The JEST rectified that problem by trading for the second most fecund speader of Pollen, after Johnny of Appleseed fame, the CRO-magnon hisself, soon to be seen on all WWF Pay per View cards...

What do you think the division will look like at the end of the year? Between the Pats, Dolphins and Jets who wins the division? What will each teams record be?

Will any of the AFC east teams make it to the AFC championship game?

Well, Green Beans belong in a tin can, right? I'll be checking it out myself in a few weeks, bought some tix to the Pats-Beans showdown online today.

Tuney, I'm taking heat on my own forum for being "realistic" regarding the Jets chances. I need a break! If i don't act like we're SB bound, I'm called negative. For the love of god, be optimistic, enthusiastic, and hopeful, but throw a little realism into the mix. Is that too much to ask.

There are blind homers and Chicken Littles on every forum. It's one of life's unchanging realities. Like the Jets sucking, it seems that it will be with us forever.

Don't speak unless spoken to.

There seems to be so many of them this season. I suppose you guys went through this once when you went on your winning stretch. I'm not used to the positive attention. It's bringing out the "hey I'll be a Jets fan again" idiots.

Still going on here, but it's starting to taper off, which is kinda entertaining in its own right. Whenever you hear a fan complaining about how tough we've had it for the last few years, you know they probably couldn't name 10 Patriots who played before 2000.

predicting records is kinda pointless, but if I had to ballpark I'd go with something like:

1) Pats: 11-5
2) Dolphins: 9-7
3) Jets: 8-8
4) Bills 4-12

As far as predicting the playoffs, I avoid doing that. That's the kind of thing that can't be predicted accurately 3 months from now, let alone right now. Might as well flip a coin at this point.

It's actually much worse on the boards when the team was on top and is coming down.

2007 was awesome. The percentage of whining was very small, as only the most Chicken of the Chicken Littles had much to complain about (except in game threads, where every opponent first down was the first sign of the apocalypse), and you were able to week out the kooks as a result.

2008 was a mixed bag, because the Brady injury sort of disguised the insanity on both sides. The blind followers could point to "11-5 even without Brady!" and the Chicken Littles could counter with "Missed the playoffs against an easy schedule!": the beginnings of hostilities were there, but they were on simmer.

2009 was brutal, as the homers who hadn't accepted reality were still insisting that the team was great and the front office was all but infallible, and they ganged up on anyone who put forth even the mildest of criticisms. For the first time since I started reading this site, the Chicken Littles were usually more sane than the blind homers.

It's 2010, and we're just now seeing a return to normalcy here. There's a nice blend of Chicken Littles and homers, and most of the extremists on both sides have either been muted or are in a "wait and see" mode (my more frequent use of the ignore function is helping, too). Rational thought and evaluation is making a comeback, and the silliness that is the Jets is helping to bring both sides together in common amusement as they watch Rexie and the ****ycats. The over-the-top assault on the media continues, but the general interplay is getting better.

If something like this happens with the Jets, that fan base will be more insane than ever, and it could last for a decade.

I just rewatched episode 3 of hard knocks, mainly because it was the only thing on at 3 in the afternoon on a Thursday, a couple observations/things that bother me while watching it.

- I hate theway Mark Sanchez strouts around, like he has accomplished something in this league. Just because he is the first string QB he acts like he is some future HOF, he has quickly become my least favorite QB up there with the Mannings.

- I think all the hype given to this team in the offseason is going to effect the way they practice and show up for games. All we have heard all offseason is how good the Jets are. That often makes players practice lazly, and think that all they have to do is show up for games and they will win them.

-One thing is clear through 2 preseason games, and rewatching the Jets game is that Mark Sanchez has not made and significant strides this offseason, and him having a couple big name players like LT, Santonio is going to effect him negatively. What Sanchez struggles with is going through the reads, and he often picks out who he is going to throw to before the snap. Like he has done the first two preseason games, he is going to force throws to these guys, which is going to cause alot of turnovers.

-The Jets Oline is not as good as last year. That LG position is a big weakspot.

After that they bust out a year in the red and whites Pat Patriot years arbitrarily and can't remember anything about the teams from that era

Did you watch Sanchez against the Giants in week 1?

Honestly, Faneca couldn't pass block at all last year. He destroyed the passing game and he was only going to get worse. Slauson is a work in project but he can't be any worse then Faneca was in the passing game.

Without Revis the opponents will score on average about 10 more points a game ... :D ... :eat1:

So, you haven't been watching the Jets exhibition games, then?

I remember all the way until the end of last years regular season Jets fans wanted to sack the "Sanchise".

:D

We've been watching, Sanchez and the offense played very well in the first game and playing the first half, last week the offense played about a quarter, didn't do much and the defense and ST's dominated. What is the issue?

I guess if I were a Patriot fan that had to sit through that pathetic display in the 3rd preason game, a dress rehearsal before the season, against the Rams no less, I'd probably want to talk about the Jets instead too.

Sancheese couldn't throw to his left last season...so far he can't this preseason...WHY????...you'll never figure it out, Super Jet Homer 19
