It's easy, and only takes a few moments. And for all the talk of this great locker room, they sure seem to be doing a lot of b*tching about Leon and Faneca. Easy for Rex to be a player's coach when he didn't have to make those tough HC decisions.
Add that to the discontent caused by the release of Thomas Jones.
Problem with that is he sucks at rushing the QB.
If he was any good at it any more none of these problems would have occured.
Too many people are overlooking the central issue.
Thomas was stripped of pass rushing duties, Thomas was unhappy, and Thomas is no longer a Pat because of LACK OF ABILITY.
If the Jets have him rushing the passer, they have a bad player in that role.
KontradictioN the Jets had 32 sacks for the season in 2009. More pressure or not it's hardly the strength of the Jets defense. You can argue it will improve or it won't improve this season but by design I doubt it's what Ryan based his pressure schemes solely around. You seem to have missed my point. Here, Thomas had a lot of coverage responsibilities which meant that, in many cases, he would not be able to rush the passer. There (New York) will be the same situation as he was in with the Ravens in which he has very little (if any) coverage responsibilities and will be allowed to rush the passer the VAST majority of the time. You can choose to have the opinion that he "sucks at rushing the passer". I hope you're right. However, with the Jets (should he go there), he would have a decidedly higher number of pass rushing attempts which should see his amount of sacks to go up. To put it simply, it wouldn't suprise me to see Thomas' sack total double from 2009 to 2010.

with skills that had not eroded.
Thomas' pass rushing abililty is fine. His overall level of play was fine in years one and two in New England. What happened last year is something none of us know. It could be age, discontent, scheme, the fit of his right shoe, or goodness knows what.
You didn't bother to properly read my post did you? I singled out that the sack total isn't the be all and end all of the Jets defensive scheme knowing it wasn't.Look at the amount of quarterback hits (now a statistic) the Jets had in 2009 and then compare that to our's. Pass rushing is absolutely the strength of the Jets defense and it worked in part due to their blitz packages and in part due to have the best CB in the league on the opposition's best receiver.
I wouldn't be so sure. Thomas is a character that needs attention to play well, Ryan is a coach who will put that arm round his shoulder. Given that and other positives for Adalius in NY I'd expect him to have a fresh mindset next season and will want to play, especially against us.
I'm not saying he'll be a beast, I'm just saying hey, this could be a good pickup for the Jests.

Actually Pro Football Focus says we had 55 QB hits, they had 56.
2 things.
1 the fact that he wasn't rushing the passer becuase he was doing a bad job is not my opinion, it is Belichicks as told by Thomas.
2 I couldn't begin to say whether your psychoanalysis of Thomas is right or wrong but it is an uninformed guess.
My point was not solely based on his rushing ability, I believe thats another debate. Overall I simply think a confident Adalius Thomas in a structure he seemed to enjoy is a solid player to have for a season wether it be situational or whatever else they want. Whatever dirt he choses to dish is a welcome bonus.
It's an opinion based on experiences of coaching players and managing characters to get the best out of them. Might be right, might be wrong but thats what I feel is half the battle with Thomas. Not saying Belichick should have done this or that with Thomas by the way, simply saying I believe thats the character Adalius can be.
