That was never in doubt reading the rest of your post though.
This is the kind of post that cracks me up.:singing:
You're basing your moaning off of scouting reports made by guys who make guesses. Not one reason you stated is something I couldn't pull off Scout.com.
All hail the draft "experts". Quoting them makes me smart.
"We've been talking about" - That's the telling part of your post. There is a group of Patriot fans that appear to live in their fantasy football world and seem to think they have insights into the inner workings of professional football and should have direct input into the decision making process of the Patriots Corporation. Some people need to relax and enjoy the way this wonderful first class organization operates. We can and should debate the tactics of the front office. We can question the decisions, both big and small, of the coaches (even BB); but in the end we are all just fans of a great team and organization. The hysteria that seems to so often infect discussion threads is pathetic.
So like I said in the "rebuilding year" thread yesterday - chill out; have a few beers, and enjoy the show. So far this has been a great draft. And didn't it feel great when the Pats got Carolina's 2011 second yesterday?
My thoughts exactly!
If the "online draft experts" had 1/100th the knowledge of an actual NFL evaluator they wouldn't be struggling to put that fancy online report he just got done reading together, and doing everything possible to differentiate and distinguish themselves from the other 5,000 doo baggies posting their "expert" opinions. Instead they would be actual NFL player personnel evaluators
he should go back and read what all the "online experts" said about Logan Mankins 4 or 5 years ago.
Awwe, poor little BritPat, I've hurt your little feelings. Hate to tell you young man, I have more football knowledge than in my pinkie than you have in your whole body. I live breathe and dream football, and unlike you, I've played American football. So take off your rose colored Pat's sunglasses, and look around, BB has been awful at drafting the last 5 years passing up stars for JAG's. The proof is there for all to see.
But like I said, I love the Pats, hate that they've been drafting terribly, and always hope they are right despite drafting unknowns and JAG's, and always wishing these guys turn into stars that help us win championships. Unfortunately they haven't, and BB has been wrong dozens of times the last few years.
Hell, I've been living and breathing Pats drafts since the Mike Haynes/Tim Fox days, I doubt you even know who those guys were. Google it.
They're not b1tchers....they just don't understand the process. They like bright, flashy lights (Dez Bryant) to hold and capture their attention.
Most of them thought the draft ended Thursday night and were giving their expertise analysis on Friday morning (this includes football know nothing Callahan on EEI). They all assumed they were slightly better at player personnel than Bill Belichick (who was once again the master of the draft board).
The new theme is similar to the old theme (circa 2003). Draft true Patriot type players. Players that will bring football "smarts", energy and enthusiasm, and ready to go to war.
Gawd you are one of the ultimate b!thers, maybe the president of the club.[/B]
SOME of us dont have to ACT. I went from hating the CB pick to understanding it now to FEARING it! Guess what guys---name the last 2 Pats First round picks who wore #21?? Reggie Dupard AND Chris Canty, the 2 worst first round busts in team history!! Man, I knew I was right the first time.

Logan Mankins aside, show me where BB has done better in the last 5 years than these so called draft experts draftwise. Show me, if you want, I will break down every draft since 2005, and show you BB's pick, and who could have been had, and it basically would show what I've been saying all along. BB has been terrible drafting since 2005. Mankins has been his only hit. And there have been dozens of day two picks where he has blown it. I'm sorry guys, keep drinking the koolaid, but BB has been terrible drafting prospects, and if you wanna question my loyalty, go ahead, at least I have the balls to come to this thread and stand up, and offer proof.
No problem with anyone's discussion, opinions, likes, etc etc. The issue was with the constant nothing-is-ever-right people whose main purpose is to deride everything the Pats do. I think we all can tell the difference between "I don't like this pick" and "BB is proving once again that he is a moron"hey there were a lot of us including myself that were less than thrilled after day 1.
Well, the only thing I would say is that we didn't "end up with a CB." That was one pick out of a dozen, and most know that there is a correlation between pass rush and coverage, as evidenced by the term "coverage sack."hey there were a lot of us including myself that were less than thrilled after day 1. Can you blame us? We've been talking about getting an edge rusher all off season, which was the biggest need, and end up with a CB.
Man love. I have it for you Patjew. What, one good draft day and all of you b1tches head for the hills? What, nothing to say now that BB might not have "lost it"? Gee, please come back with an 86 page thread about Dez Bryant.
I've been lurking for a long time now because I can't stand to post amongst the gripers-for-the-sake-of-griping. This board has been in need of some serious moderation lately, and for some reason it's been absent. Maybe BB has provided it himself.
Yeah, I know I'm just a stupid homer and GFY and whatnot.
Welcome to the new Pats!
hey there were a lot of us including myself that were less than thrilled after day 1. Can you blame us? I myself was not upset about passing up an OLB in round 1 but Dez Bryant or Demarius THomas, potential gamebreakers.
Only if your point is that the ultimate purpose of drafting is to select probowl players. Us homers think that the ultimate purpose of drafting is to build competitive teams that can win Lombardis. The 2001 Superbowl team was filled with probowlers.I was one of the *****ers, and I'm still here, haven't gone anywhere, went to a party, so wasn't around to discuss rounds 2 and 3. And people who think those who *****, aren't Pat's fans are sorely mistaken. I've been a huge Pats fan since 1975. We ***** due to the fact that we WANT the Pats to succeed and WANT the Pats to draft great players to make the Pats champions again. And I know I know I have been negative about the Pat's drafting in the past, but it has been warrented, when you draft ONE Pro Bowl player in the last 5 years, your drafting prowess can be questioned. The record speaks for itself, BB has not drafted well these last 5 years, quite often trying to be the mad scientist by trying to outsmart the NFL, only to wind up outsmarting himself, and failing terribly in the draft. 50-60 some odd draft picks since 2004, and only ONE Pro Bowl/all star quality player, I don't think I need to prove my point anymore.
