did Wooten ever get picked?

Yeah, the Pats traded the 25th pick in the 3rd round for what could be the first pick in the second round next year. Well, it is doubtful that the Panthers will be the worst team in the NFL, but they could realistically net the Pats a top 10 pick in the second round next year.

Just to pick a nit here. They actually traded the 26th if they knew who the panthers wanted, and I'm sure they did. Back to back picks = same pick.

Kinda funny. This time yesterday most people were ready to run Belichick out of town. Twenty-four hours later, everyone is in love with the draft. This is one of the pratfalls of splitting the first round from the second and third. Too much overraction over one pick.

Ack. I wanted Ricky Sapp.
And I did NOT particularly want a WR.

the only players i want for tommorrow is Arthur Jones, Al Woods, Wootton, Marcus Easley and Blount

A Jets poster just figured out BB's draft strategy:

"The New England Patriots, through a series of draft trades resulting in the accumulation of later round and future draft picks, will own EVERY PICK in the 2017 NFL Draft. Its gonna be epic!"

Kudos for finding the sole funny Jets fan.

Not the word you meant, but not wholly inappropriate even so. ;)

After our 8-8 2010 season, we can reload stud DE and prob RB in 2011. Things are looking up. :bricks:

Don't think the pitfall is splitting the draft so much as judging the draft during that split. While there were lots jumping off ledges last night, there were a fair number saying the draft was far from over and to wait and judge at this point at the earliest, which was an obvious point really but prescient as well.

Just noticed that Dwyer is still on the board.

lets see them package up the 5th they got and 2 7th for another 4th then flip the other 4th rounder for a 3rd next year LOL

Amazing draft only two minor problems.

1. Maroney is the starting runningback.

2. Who the hell is playing LDE?

Little guy by the name of Ty Warren, maybe you've heard of him;)

Okay, Damit, the Saints just took Graham...

But to finish I hae to take back all those rants from earlier today (and last night). What a job by BB today!

He gets Gronkowski, Cunningham, Spikes, and Price plus a 5th rounder and a 2nd round pick next year.
