Obviously.

Why would a Jets fan want to be reminded of championship runs by the Patriots?

I take offense to that comment. The Jets may have the best defense in the league and the most lovable coach with a star cornerback that makes Moss look like an even more heartless WR than he already is. But.......... the reason is because Patriot fans prefer to think back to the glory days instead of realizing their empire has fallen.

The King is dead long live the King:rocker:

Good point. That 14-2 record for the Jets last season really established that team's bona fides.

No, try the near AFC championship crown. The gift was given, but at least we did something with it. When a rookie Mark Sanchez has a better playoff performance than Brady you know it's the end of an era.

Frakin' hilarious! We're touting near crowns now?

Well I always hear about this near undefeated season the Patriots had.

"Samual dropped the pick"

"The pressure got to them"

"The game was rigged"

Don't you even have a 16-0 banner?

16-0 in the regular season is something that had never been done before. I'm reasonably certain that some teams have lost in the AFCCG before.

Hell, take it up with the Colts.

Actually, something even better was done before........ by the Fins. The regular season is meaningless. The Patriots should know this as they hate Mongo Manning more than I do. His accomplishments are 99% geared towards the regular season, so if that is what matters to Pats fans then Manning>>>>Brady.

Thank you for this. I wasn't sure we were going to have a clear cut winner for "stupidest post of the day", but you've managed to give us an overwhelming favorite.

The fins didn't go 16-0 in the regular season.

I never said they did. I said they did something better. Learn how to comprehend.

Who knows what they would have done if they had to play 2 extra games that season?

The Patriots still won more games than any team in one season in league history and no one can take that away from them...yes,a SB victory is MUCH MUCH better than just wins, but what the Patriots had in wins in one season will never be beaten...ever and I am proud of that,it could have been better with just a little more luck but I am still proud of that incredible 18 win season.

Ummm.....

16-0 in the regular season is something that had never been done before.

Nobody has ever done anything better in the NFL regular season, at least with regards to win-loss record. What was it you said? Oh, yeah....

Learn how to comprehend.

Ok, maybe we can come to a middle ground here. The Patriots went 16 and 0 which has never been done. Great stuff. The Colts have won the most regular season games in a row-Is this also a great accomplishment? How about the most regular season wins in a decade? I sense some double standards.......

Why are you quoting yourself instead of me? I never said the Fins went 16-0 in the regular season. Instead they did something better. Comprhenday?

Does not matter, wins in a season will never be dupicated no matter what you do to try and figure into ways to downgrade the Pats accomplishments which BTW also included that season of the most TD passes by a QB and most receiving TDs ever by a WR...

You might want to change your forum name to TwitsyPat

Makes more sense....

I couldn't dupicate your post. That is for sure.

What really gets me is the idiots that keep going on about Maroney's fumbles like it was way worst on average than anybody else on the team. In fact he was not the worst on fumbles per carry on the team and even after a bad season of fumbles by his standards he still has the best career average of the Patriots RBs.

Here is the carries per fumble for our backs.
Fred Taylor 1 fumble in 63 carries in 2009. He only had 63 carries.
Fred Taylor NFL career average 1 fumble per 92 carries.
Kevin Faulk 1 fumble in 62 carries in 2009. He only had 62 carries.
Kevin Faulk NFL career average 1 fumble per 33.5 carries.
Laurence Maroney 1 fumble per 49 attempts in 2009. He had 194 carries.
Laurence Maroney NFL career average 1 fumble per 116.5 carries.
Sammy Morris 1 fumble per 36.5 attempts in 2009. He had 73 carries.
Sammy Morris NFL career average 1 fumble per 62.5 carries.

Well if you want to get technical......we never had a player named 'Samual'
