Pats holding private workout with Tebow

The only way I'd take him in the 3rd or 4th round is if we think we can trade him for a 1 or 2 within 24 months.

Yeah, just look at what a disaster it turnout to be the last time NE drafted an QB and attempted to convert him into a wide reciever.......

oh wait.

Its not the same discussion at all unless you don't think Tebow is going to be picked until very late in the draft. You are unlikely to find many if any Pats fans who would argue with them using a 7th round pick on Tim Tebow.

Just Say No to Tim Tebow........ Please! He's not a QB, he isn't going to become a TE and he certainly is not a FB............ Sheeesh

Best case scenario is someone wants to trade up with us for him and offers more than he's worth!

No Tebow! No way.

I hope you are wrong. The BB/Saban connection is a good one.....

BB better not waste a 2 on Tebow

Just on Tebow's intangibles alone, he seems like the type of player BB wants. Plus you add the fact that he's versatile, has the physical ability to play TE, HBack, and QB.

Not saying I would agree with using one of our second round picks on him, but I feel it coming...

TIME MACHINE SAYS: Tom Brady is NOT an NFL quarterback.

Probably the one and only thing that Brady and Tebow have in common, then or now.

Was just going to say the same thing. If BB wanted a self-righteous headcase he would have traded for LdT. Tebow will never happen with the Pats unless he slips so far down in the draft that it would be criminal not to take him. (like to #199 or so )

And shouldn't this thread be moved to the religious forum or something?

I have a feeling one of our second round picks will be used on Tebow.

I wish I could disagree, but I have a sneaking feeling you might be right. Just seems like a total BB move. And it seems only natural that the college player fans most love to hate will go the the NFL team fans most love to hate.

This is pretty fascinating stuff IMO. You arguably have the greatest, most highly decorated D-1 QB ever who in the same turn possesses a tremendous amount of physical skill and leadership ability.

The problem is that he easily could be selling insurance in 2014. Just not sure the man has a position or can win one in the NFL.

Why is Tebow a self-righteous headcase? Because he is pro-life? By all accounts he is a quality kid.

Looks like our front office has had it with Tom "Hollywood" Brady. The trolls were right!

the pats are not drafting him. he is a 2th round talent. that the pats are hopeing someone falls in love with and trades up to get him at #22 so they can get a 2th and 3rd round pick for #22.

Serenity now. Serenity now. Serenity now.

I think putting Bible proverbs on your eyeblack is pretty lame, but I won't lose sleep over it.

I'd rather waste a pick on Tebow than find out later on that we lost out on a good, useful player when we've had a pipeline to him for the past 2-3 years. BB comes to UF every year during spring practice. He knows what he's getting out of Tebow, and has for a few years now. If he wants him ,he'll get him.

I will say this: if BB has an extended conversation with Tebow, he WILL be a Patriot. Tebow is smart, athletic, and is a natural leader. He has firey emotion and passion for the game that is virutally unmatched by anybody available in the draft. If he's available where BB likes him, he's wearing a Flying Elvis. He is EXACTLY BB's type of player. Smart, versatile, and a leader... no matter what position he plays.

When you consider the guy you just described and have him learn to playQB under BB and the guy BB taught to play QB, Tom Brady, it is interesting.
I think Tebow will be better than most think. He gets a bad rap because of all the publicity and the religuos stuff. People really are rooting against him even if they do it obscurely (like trashing his ability when its his personality they dont like).
I think he's got a lot of work to do, but considering the amount of players that walk into the NFL and get lazy when they cash that signing bonus check, he could make it.

I agree. It's a little to much but if that's the way he "holy-rolls" so be it.

sorry i just dont see it
BB is all about value and hes not great value with one of our 2nds

Tebow will want to play QB and in 4 years after he has been groomed by the best, teams will be all over him to start at QB

Watching the tape, I realized once again something I first saw when I watched him play against Fleming Island for Neese. The ball looks big in his hands, which means he has a tight grip on the ball from the snap. I bet you can't see any air between his fingers, i.e., he's palming it. On one of his throws, you can see the laces between his 1st and 3rd knuckles on the release. While that signifies a strong arm if he's getting it 40+ downfield, he's still "shotputting" it.

As a catcher in baseball, my coach used to make me go out and throw long distances, i.e., center to home. That created an extending of the necessary short muscles to feel comfortable enough to fire off a throw down to second. He called it the Nolan Ryan Drill, because Nolan used to throw a football for warm up to tighten his inner arm muscles first, as they would be the ones that would help his fastball maintain its effectiveness later on in the year. It also taught him to release the ball at the highest point.

That's what Tebow needs, a schedule of how to develop the gifts he's got. His intangibles will endear him to every team out there. Many people forget that he was basically a FB for his first championship. He's got an infectious desire to win, which the Pats desperately need, and he'd be a fantastic community leader.

Oh, and by the way, we have to run in the snow. I'd line Tebow up in Faulk's spot, and let him go make snow angels.
