Patriots | Scheduled to hold private workout with Tebow
from Footballguys.com News Blogger
Matt Hayes, of SportingNews.com, reports the New England Patriots are scheduled to hold a private workout with University of Florida QB Tim Tebow. Our View: The Patriots and Tebow make an interesting mix. He could immediately help out as a Wildcat QB, and learn how to play in the NFL from one of the best - Tom Brady.

Yeah yeah, I know it's draft talk and forum police will probably move this, but Tebow is *kind of* a hot topic so I'm sure this will generate a lot of interest.

I personally wouldn't mind him in the 4th, but if we burn one of our seconds on this guy .....

Perhaps they are driving his price/hype up in hopes someone else will...;)

I can't explain it, I have no reasoning, and if someone fights me on it I probably won't fight back... but I feel like if he's there in the 4th, we should draft him to play TE.

We're drafting him:rocker:

Tight end of the future

When someone wants to trade up for one of our picks for tebow, we want to know what Tebow is worth.

If we see a TE in that body, so be it. If we're going after Tebow the Qb....

Matt Cassel barely played in college and became an NFL QB ... but many say Tebow cannot become an NFL QB. I think they're all wrong. I think Tebow will become an NFL QB and a decent one at that. Perhaps never a top tier QB ... but even jeff Hostetler won a Super Bowl. he didn't have much of an arm but he had legs and toughness.

Tebow has legs and toughness and dedication. Like I said ... I think they're wrong and if he's there when we pick our last 2nd round pick I take him.

We're holding a private workout with him, and I'm willing to bet there will be another 20 teams that will. It does ZERO damage to meet with a player and let them show their stuff.

I'll only be upset if this leads to us picking him before round 4.

Might be BB driving his trade value up (one of our top four). If you need a TE
draft a TE, not a QB who projects as a TE. Deception possibly. Cant see taking this guy, He'll be gone before our 5th pick, and I would not take with 1 of our top 4 picks.

I have a feeling one of our second round picks will be used on Tebow.

we have a very capable backup QB.....

Tebow has no room in the Patriot organization..... If you want a TE draft an experienced TE. Last time I checked we do not need a QB.

Tebow is not the QB of the future.... Srry... I can see him potenmtially succeeding as a QB; it is not worth the risk.

no round 3 pick yet... and by round 4, when we pick... he should be gone.

I hope you are wrong. The BB/Saban connection is a good one.....

BB better not waste a 2 on Tebow

I will say this: if BB has an extended conversation with Tebow, he WILL be a Patriot. Tebow is smart, athletic, and is a natural leader. He has firey emotion and passion for the game that is virutally unmatched by anybody available in the draft. If he's available where BB likes him, he's wearing a Flying Elvis. He is EXACTLY BB's type of player. Smart, versatile, and a leader... no matter what position he plays.

If you need a TE
draft a TE, not a QB who projects as a TE. .

Yeah, just look at what a disaster it turnout to be the last time NE drafted an QB and attempted to convert him into a wide reciever.......

oh wait.
