He was our best corner last year and name a corner that is available that is better than Bodden
it does not matter....you're still better off spending the 8M per year on a pass rush and giving the starting job to a earthwind moreland type rookie
simply not worth the numbers people are throwing around here
A pass rush is useless when you have corners that consist of Wilhite, Butler, Wheatley and Springs. A QB could just throw the ball up and the WR would make a play

you are wrong
the 2004 playoff season begs to differ.....the pats could keep the colts to 3 points starting randall gay and earthwind moreland.......
good corners are useless unless you have a pass rush

I think all the people who mock the "sky is falling" crowd deserves to be mocked. Face the facts, we've won NOTHING for 5 years now. Our personnel manager who built our elite crew is GONE. Our offensive coordinator who drew up the 16-0 record breaking season, GONE. Our players who paved the way to greatness, ALL BUT ABOUT 4 of them GONE. Yeah, nows no time to panic. Even though we got zilch pass rush last year. Meanwhile BB and Kraft sit there pondering why their value plan has failed in years past. Getting killed by a wild-card team isnt the sign of decency folks, it's a sign that the wheels fell off and we are going gradually down hill. You've taken math class haven't you? So you get the concept of greatest to least, 16-0, 11-5, 10-6. You guys are missing the blatantly obvious. The league has adapted to our style while we have sat here perched at the top, well we're not anymore. If you dont mind being a mediocre team just keep mocking us with "the sky is falling" We needed Peppers. He's gone now so we should at least go after Boldin or a receiver. Our needs cant all be filled in the draft and with JAGs, unless we get spot on on every pick. Yeah we rank last in the league in picks still on our roster since 04, good chance of that happening! :bricks:
I am hoping by the end of the weekend we can take care of Faulk, Wilfork, Brady and Bodden with new contracts.
Let the dust clear after the weekend and start evaluating potential RFA. As we all know with extra picks we have an opportunity to get a player via restricted.
thoughts?
Ah yes the "We haven't won a Super Bowl in 5 years, therefore Belichick has lost his touch". I guess a 16-0 season followed by a last minute loss on a freak play in the Super Bowl is right up there with the dark days of **** McPherson and Rod Rust.
Or how about going 11-5 after your hall of fame QB goes down with injury? I guess that's the same as going 5-11!
Or how about going to the AFC championship game in 2006? That's the same as going 2-14!
People need to realize, winning Super Bowls is incredibly hard. There is a lot of luck involved. Does the 2008 team make a deep playoff run if Brady is healthy? Most likely. Were the 2007 Patriots the best team this decade? On talent (which is Belichick's job to assemble), absolutely.
Pissing on the accomplishments of the last 5 years because we all got spoiled by a team that made it look so easy for 4 years is absurd and the definition of a bandwagon fan. I remember back in 2002 people were wailing on and on (not here obviously) about Belichick losing his touch. "Belichick got lucky last year!". Same in 2005 after a disappointing year "Monty Beisel? Chad Brown? Belichick has lost his touch, they will never contend again!"
Yes, the team has flaws. Yes, it has lost some good players and coaches. Yes, they have had a lot of bad luck lately, No, the team isn't doomed and Yes, I trust Bill Belichick to put a quality football team on the field for the next 3-5 years or however long he is around.
Ah yes i am a bandwagon fan because we don't agree. Give me a break. You're a complete idiot if you think anyone's still on this bandwagon. Does being a good fan that doesn't want to return to being the "patsies" make me a badwagon fan? If it does enlighten me please. Tell me how to be a better fan of my team. I suppose i'll just hope we sit here and do nothing, and maybe we'll get lucky! Right?
I'd also like to point out that all those years we had potential to be more. If we wouldve signed a receivier maybe we wouldve been able to keep that lead in the AFCCG. We were one receiver short of a 4th superbowl, but we just couldn't give anyone money so we stuck with Caldwell. BB is a great coach, Kraft is a good manager, but struggles in filling the team needs with that fat wad of cash we all know he has. DO YOU WANT TO BE WORSE THAN THE JETS? they are improving while we are doing NOTHING. You're not a good fan if you want to be worse than the Jets, tell me is that your second favorite team? But you're right, maybe with Moss, Edelman, and the other scrubs we have we'll be able to pass on Revis and Cromartie! It could happen! Give me a break and watch some football kiddo, something tells me i know much more than you do if you cant put that together.
