The running backs have been extremely unimpressive, to date.

Re: OURLADs 2009 All Rookie Team

So basically, Tom Brady was a bad draft pick because he didn't perform as a rookie?
No

But Tom Brady isn't getting any younger. If this team wants to capitalize on his ability and win another SB with him they need players to come in an make an impact now. Not 3 years from now

I guess I was the only one not all that impressed with Vontae Davis this season.

I didn't see every game the Dolphins played but IMO he looked pretty competitive in the games I did see. Vs the Pats it was a mixed bag beat some (see Moss) and out physical'd some (see Moss). With his size he has good upside.

I hate the list but guys, Julian Edelman doesn't belong on that team. I think if you limit it to 3 players then its Maclin, Harvin and Wallace. They all made pretty big impacts.

Man, last year's QB class performed horribly.

Where's the love for our rookie Long Snappah?

The best compliment you can pay the kid is never to bring up his name in discussion because if you did, he screwed up!

True, he should of screwed up big, and then been a model player the rest of the year [like he was] if he wanted to get any recognition

Re: OURLADs 2009 All Rookie Team

Kinda surprised Vollmer and Butler didn't make the list but whatever.

Interesting..........No complaints on Maualuga, Matthews or Laurinaitus making this list................

most of the O line men on that list started every game. Sebastian Vollmer, only stared 8

every WR on that list had over 600 yerds rec Julian Edelman, 359 rec yerds

Darius Butler, only started 5 games

i have no problem with no pats on that list. but i do think this will be one of the best drafts of the BB era

Vollmer, will be a full time starter at RT

Edelman, i think will have 80+ rec

Myron Pryor, could be a starter at DE

Pat Chung, at worst is a good run stoping and pass rushing S

Darius Butler, i think will be the #1 CB

Ron Brace, maybe a starter one day.

Re: OURLADs 2009 All Rookie Team

He played in 11 games, had less than 40 receptions, 400 yards receiving and 1 TD

He looked good but you're kidding yourself if you think he deserves to be on an all rookie team.

Maybe if he hadn't been injured and played all 16 you could consider but there isn't a big enough sample size of his games to determine how good he might be

Becasue Mohamed Massaquoi was fantastic? I think not, some players are on there just because they got playing time, doesnt mean they wher good.

Are you implying that the Pats blew it on those players? Again, some players flourish in some systems and not in others. Maualuga is a completely wrong fit for the Patriots and would never be productive here. He is a physically gifted player with a ten cent head. If the Pats drafted him, people would be pointing to other players who the Pats could have drafted instead of him right now. As for the other two, don't know enough about them or the systems they play in to tell if they would flourish with the Pats.

BTW, just because the Pats don't have any player on that list doesn't mean they had a bad draft. They didn't have a first round pick and at least one players was a blantant ommission from the team - Vollmer.

6 Running Backs. We need to draft a couple backs if we wanna get on this list......

I still don't know how Donald Brown got on that list. He was on the worst run offense in the league and couldn't supplant an average at best Joseph Addai as lead back. The guy had 281 yards (3.6 YPC) and 3 TDs rushing and 169 yards receiving. That is decent third down back numbers. For reference, Faulk had 335 yards rushing (5.4 YPC) and 2 TDs and 305 yards receiving and one TD.

"If Chung, Butler, Brace, Vollmer, Tate, McKenzie, Ohrnberger, Bussey, Pryor, Edelman and Richard (or at least most of them) don't step up big in 2010, then you can question the picks. Not being on this guy's list isn't such a bad thing."

I agree with that completely.

Most of us feel pretty good early on about Butler, Vollmer, and Edelman. I was not a big Ohrnberger fan when they drafted him, however, I was a huge McKenzie fan. He's a tackling machine, or was in college. Now if he can just heal properly, I'm excited about him. Pryor seems to be a player. The sky could be the limit for Tate if he can stay healthy, and stay out of trouble.

Next year will mean alot for all of them. If they hit on 4 or 5 of them, the team will benefit greatly.
