I've been lurking and waiting for something more profound for my initial post but I couldn't resist a reply here. The way I see it they are even a lot of physical categories, size, arm strength, accuracy, although I think Peyton's might be slightly better. And both have certaintly had weapons to use.
But Peyton always seems to be in more control of the game. I think he notices blitzes and hot reads better than anyone to ever live. Brady often relies on only a handfull of plays, most of the time they work though. Coming off the knee injury Brady does not move as well in the pocket but I'm not sure he ever moved as well as Peyton. And for the clutch factor Brady has only declined over the years and Peyton has grown.
You walk into another groups saloon armed with a knife and look for a gunfight?
The Brady/Manning thing can be debated forever (and probably will). Why can't people enjoy the fact that we have 2 all time greats playing at the same time. Of all the active QB's if you couldn't have Manning, which QB would you take? While there are a couple good alternatives, there's really only 1 other great choice (same if you reverse the situation).
The one thing Manning didn't have that I was waiting to see is how he would work with the new guys and they seemed to have come along nicely, but he still has Wayne and Clark...
