Adalius Thomas dissing the coach

The reason Bill went for it is because guys like Adalius Thomas and Derrick Burgess aren't earning their ridiculously overpriced salaries.

i think burgess is only makeing 2 million this year and is a FA next year but he was the only guy geting to payton last night but still no sack's

AD is makeing like 7 million this year and he suck's just as bad as burgess dose

but the funny part is if the pats cut him he will sign with the jets or back with the ravens and become a 8 to 10 sack guy again because they know how to use him just as a back note passrusher

not as a ILB or a run stoper or a cover man but just a blitz guy

C'Mon man.

I agree with the fact that he should handle it differently, but really?

If he's overpaid, it's our fault. We're the ones who paid him, and he isn't wrong in wanting more money for more games. This is the money they live off of for the rest of their lives.

Assuming he was trying, how the hell would it be humanly possible for a pro bowl caliber D-lineman NOT to help out in a game where the team was shorthanded on the D-line and, yet, still wouldn't play Brace?

Seymour would pretty much have had to lay down and take a nap on the field in order for him not to have been a help in that game.

Like I just posted, why are we talking about guys that arent on our roster. Seymour was traded months ago. We can talk if the trade was good or not once we find out who our draft pick is in 2011

Why are we talking about guys that are not on our roster? This trade happened months ago. We'll revisit it on draft day 2011. No one can say if we had Seymour last night we win that game.

Because the argument is that the "guys were mega gassed" last night. Fact is that, with Seymour on the team, the D-Line had a ton of depth. Not so much now that he is gone. If the team were truly gassed last night (which I don't believe to be the case, but it is what it is), Seymour would have helped tremendously. This really isn't that difficult of a concept.

I still stick with my statement. They wouldnt have made a difference. What if all of our DL was healthy last night? The players that are actually on our roster, not players that were traded.

I'd say that if we still had Seymour, he'd probably would have been 'gassed' as well, and anyone we brought in to spell him would probably be too raw (due to not as many snaps during the season) to make any difference.

Either way, it was the defensive play calling that cost us the game IMO.

BUT on the bright side, we're still 2 games up on the division. BB will be out for blood next weekend against the banged up Jets. A win putting us up 3 over the jets, and 2 over the phins. We're still in good shape. We'll see the Colts again round 2 of the playoffs

well the main issue is pass rush. Our secondary has looked great when pressure is being applied. We need pressure from the outside so we can stunt inside with the DL thats our trademark especially against good QB's like peyton but we need that OLB pressure to be money in the bank when we need to use it and its not been as effective.

Basically I dont think ninkovich is the answer here he is a platoon LB at best. And burgess' best days are clearly behind him.

Im sayin it........

One guy doesnt make us have depth. If Green and Warren are active last night would you be saying this? Likewise with you I dont think we were gassed at all. Our front 4, no matter who it was couldnt not get pressure on Manning. Lets just try and keep the talk to players are on our roster.

This is the main argument as to why the pass rush is our biggest need this offseason. I definitely think ninkovich is a platoon LB but i feel AD is also a platoon LB at this point. Sad that after this entire offseason our best OLB move was bringing back TBC. This is ADs third year here, i trust that the coaches know how to best utilitze Adalius. The fact that his production has significantly declined tells me that his best days are behind him.

I think BB has an axe to grind with Mr Thomas. Mr "I play 11 positions on defense" and "I am 26 but was a reserve for 4 years so play like I'm 22" has been not even in the same universe as the fringe All Pro his was billed as (and paid as) when they brought him in.

They were gassed, Manning was running no huddle and only the offense can make substitutions, the D cant. He had them running all over hell, no matter who got in there they would have been run ragged too. The way manning was playing in the 4th qtr, he was dead on with his passes and kept the pace of play up.
I dont think it would matter whos in there, no one can keep up with that if its successful for too long.

Manning was intercepted in the 4th quarter.

Even ignoring overall level of play by the starters which would be improved, having a pro bowl caliber D-lineman doesn't improve D-line depth in comparison to having a rookie second rounder that you don't put on the field?

Are you seriously trying to make that claim?

Adalius has a bad argument about the games. I agree with him that they should not go beyond 16 games but the fact is, the players will get paid more in tv fees alone. 2 more games will make for a bigger pie.

What's your reasoning?

Well Dean pees or BB..... well whoever decided in the 4th that we could ease up and go into that prevent-like defense would have looked alot smarter with big sey because seymour would have gotten the double team and that would've freed up our other D-lineman to possibly beat 1 on 1 matchups.

If they don't double seymour once we go into the soft zone than that leaves seymour 1 on 1 which is another matchup that favors us and maybe we can get at peyton more and make them dink and dunk a little more using more clock than they did on those 2 drives that took all of 4 min combined.

Basically having seymour in a contract year is a great thing in a game like last night on a big stage.

Manning was intercepted in the 4th quarter.

That interception to wilhite in the 4th looked like a miscommunication more than anything else.

It didnt appear that we had a whole bunch to do with that.

If true, this is the problem I saw all along when BB deactivated Thomas. It just wasn't worth it in the long run; Thomas is a good player and you need him down the stretch at his best.

Your claim was that Seymour provides depth because we were gassed. My claim is that if Warren and Green were active thats the depth we need to not be gassed. I still dont think we were gassed, people are using that as an excuse.

Seymour is not the best 3-4 linemen in the league anymore. He is injury prone. He is also getting up there in age. I guarantee this trade will work out in the long run.

Why is everyone saying that if we had Seymour we would have won lastnight? It doesn't make sence. A better statement would be if Warren and Green were healthy then we would have won lastnight. Green has always been the "pass rushing specialist." Seymour has never been a real threat in the passing game, yes he demands a double team, but complaining about this is pointless. And for one of the posters to use the Pat White run as an example, how did Seymour do against the wildcat last year? The Pats have not been able to stop the run for a couple of seasons even with Seymour, so stop making that claim. Yes he was an all- pro and depth would have been key, but lets talk about the D-Lineman that are actually on the team who will be back the next time the Patriots face Indy.
