Re: OT:Seymour postgame exchange

Who cares if the writer's a douche ? Who cares if Seymour's not nice ?

He jelped us win. Now he's gone and we got a 1st rounder for him. It's all good. Why do we care so much about feelings ? My life doesn't change if Richard Seymour's sucks... thanks for the plays Richard, I hope you have good times on the West Coast. Have a nice life.

Re: OT:Seymour postgame exchange

Technically there is no penalty for hair pulling, it is actually considered "part of the uniform" so it would be legal to say tackle Palomalu buy his hair (someone did last year).
A few years ago, Polamalu had a pick vs. KC. Larry Johnson caught him from behind and tackled him by pulling his hair. Johnson then proceeded to pull him off the ground by his hair, invoking a 15yd penalty. The tackle itself was completely legal.

That being said, would a DE trying to get around an OT by pulling hair be a legal move? I know Seymour's penalty happened after the whistle, but would it be a penalty during play considering Clady isn't a ball carrier?

Regards,
Chris

Re: OT:Seymour postgame exchange

That writer is so full of himself, it's laughable. And I am not defending Seymour - just putting down that idiot hack who probably calls himself a journalist.

Re: OT:Seymour postgame exchange

Why do they let the media in the locker room? Over here even the owners of most teams will wait outside or ask the manager for permission should they want to come in the locker room.

Access = favorable coverage.

That's the thinking in the NFL.

OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

"Officials flagged Seymour for the 15-yard penalty in the third quarter when he failed to let go of Clady's dreadlocks. The Broncos went on to score a touchdown on the drive in their 23-3 win in Oakland.
Seymour finished with three tackles in his third game since the Patriots traded him to the Raiders."

There is absolutely something there in Oakland that makes players miserable. He hasn't been there for what 3 weeks and already the downward spiral has begun.

not to rag on the guy,but 6 tackles and 0 sacks since game one is pretty poor. Why a team that only plays,4-3,would place such a high value on him,is beyond me.............but,then again, that team did draft Jurassic Russel, number one.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Looks like he took a page outta Todd Lights playbook last year from that game at Miami.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Look, it really wasnt that bad lol. I mean, Wilfork has done far worse, and he's not part of some downward spiral. Everyone here is blowing this up. None of us have an idea why he did it, and having spent years watching Seymour, something had to have been done to really piss him off. Don't these two have somewhat of a history of scuffling, or am I thinking of a different Pats/Bronco player combo?

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Something obviously set Seymour off - probably something Clady did on an earlier play would be my guess.

I'm also guessing that video won't be up for very long. The NFL is fairly vigilant in protecting their copyright protected products.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Who cares? Clady most likely deserved that or worse. Denver offensive lineman have a history of being cheap shot artists.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

That's unacceptable...He did it right in front of the ref...weak Sey, weak.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Oh the ferocious power and tenacity. Richard Seymour was one of my favorites-I'm going to miss him but wish him well. I hope he tears it up and destroys.

I know what set Seymour off. Its the indian burial ground that the Raiders stadium is built on...

As I've said before on this board, the most overrated player in football, having his lunch eaten again by a young LT.

QB12

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Let's see, two incidents in two years of a guy pulling another player's hair. Both times the guy getting hair pulled sported dreads.

Coincidence?

Maybe. I don't know. I never grappled with a guy wearing dreads. last year it seemed to me like Matt Light got his fingers stuck in Crowder's hair.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

What I think is funny is that ump jumping in the air to launch his flag.

Kinda reminds me of good old Earl Strom back in the heydays of the NBA before Garretson start churning out refbots.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

Seymour seems like a mellow guy but once he steps on the field he's an animal, its what makes him a great player.

Re: OT: Richard Seymour pulling Broncos Ryan Clady's hair (Video)

I second the who cares. Seymour has always been that type of player. It's why non-Patriots fans hate the guy so much. He's ultra competitive--he doesn't just blow guys up, he gets in their head (figuratively.. and literally, apparently)

Re: OT:Seymour postgame exchange

Seymour got a penalty for yanking a players hair. This is a stupid penalty. If your going to run ariound on the field with your hair flowing out from under your helmet, then you run the risk of having it yanked, intentional or not. Your hair should be considered part of the uniform. If you want to make a "fashion statement" with having long flowing locks, then it is your own problem if it gets pulled. You don't want your hair pulled, then put it up under the helmet, wear a hairnet, or better yet, go get a damn haircut.

Hey goon, watch the effing play. Seymour jumped on the guy while he was down, and yanked him up by his hair after the play was dead. Amazing how someone's choice of haircuts affects your opinion of them so much.
