PWP and Hoodie.... Fair enough.
I still think he could be used in passing down situations.
Ultimately I trust BB's instinct and if he agrees with you guys,
Willie won't be back anyways.

Actually just to be clear, Hoodie and I from our observations think (we're not pro scouts) that Willie is too slow for passing situations. TheHoodie in his excellent rookie post commented that Willie could probably still set the edge on running plays well and I believe that too. Just not worth having an old, slow pass rusher (OLB) who can't cover RBs or TEs either.

As someone said well, Willie belongs in the Patriots HOF, not on the Patriots 2009 football field.

To the posters who keep saying he has nothing left in his tank.
What do base this assertion on? His Age. Is that it?
Lack of sacks? Willie never did get a lot of sacks. His job was to set the edge and like every other lineman/linebacker had gap responsibility too.
Do you cry about Richard Seymours' lack of sack production too?
As far as coverage goes, can you actually say that you saw Willie blow coverages a whole lot...more than he ever did before he went to Cleveland.
Have you noticed we haven't won a Superbowl since he left? (Ok that's lame but I'm pulling for my guy here.)

Wow, you totally just went up quite a few notches in my book. I've watched Willie every chance I've gotten the last couple yrs. Like I said, I was also at the Cleveland-Skins game last yr. And, every single defensive snap for Cleveland I was solely watching Willie (the snaps he played at least). Believe me, this guy has something left in the tank. No, he's not what he used to be, but he would be a great number 3 olb here.

GET IT DONE!!!!!!!!!
