Good, its always nice to start the season off 1-0

I would love for the first 2 games to be on the road!! Think about the possibility of being 2-0 with 8 home games to go:). Also consider that in the past 2 seasons, the Pats have had 3 of their last 4 games of the season on the road. With the first 2 being on the road this year, that would be unlikely to happen this year.
Additionally, it would be better to catch:D T.O. early in the season in his (new) house when he is less familiar and has less chemsitry w/Edwards than he will later on in the year.

The Patriots will host the Bills on MNF and possibly wearing their throwbacks to commemorate the AFL 40th anniversary!!

That sucks, I'll miss this game. And miss the opening weekend of football because I'll be too pissed without the Patriots playing. And then of course the Patriots will have a short rest and turnaround for the next game.

What a way to start the season.

While NE has won the last 10 games between the two,New England historically has had problems against the Bills early in September if you want to go back to the history between the two teams in early fall.

NE is 3-5 at home during the entire history of the meetings between the two and are only 4-4 in Buffalo for 7-9 total record in September

While history is just previous, meaningless stuff to some, its interesting to notice that the Patriots are MUCH better when facing Buffalo later on in any given NFL season.
Yeah, history doesn't matter a whole bunch. When you think about it, we play them home and away every year, and the determining factor of who wins the games is probably NOT whether we play them week 1 or week 7.

Don't whine about the short week

Look what happened last year in week 1 and then maybe you could look at the start of the upcoming season a little bit happier.

If Brady is still standing by the end of the week 1 game and is throwing on thursday into week 2's game then next season will be automatically better already than the horror of september 2008 - Think about that before moaning about a short week into week 2 ...

the only chemistry those two will have later in the year is the kind you need a fire extinguisher for.

No, I don't think so.

I think the Patriots ended up winning the strip-sack-first-play game. I think.

It was 2 different games, and yes, we won the strip sack game. It was pretty much the only bad play the Pats made all game, but we only won 20-10 or something like that.

I'm triple whining. I'll miss the Patriots in Buffalo, I'll miss watching them on Sunday, and I'll miss the Monday night game on TV.

Three reasons to whine.

Get yourself a DVR if you can - I absolutely LOVE mine, and if you ignore sports scores all day and until you can DVR the game then you can watch the game when you have time during that evening like it was live.

Missing them on sunday? - Hell, missing them on sunday this past January was more of a miss than any sunday in week 1 could give me.

We won on a safety by Wilfork (it was Wilfork who sacked the QB I believe)

I didnt want to include the link which was from Borges and the Herald since so many hate both but this is allegedly strong NFL sources that indicate that Week 1 for NE and Buffalo in Prime Time on Monday Night in Buffalo and in those throwbacks - to be seen as the first of two games that night.

Sounds like a fun game to look forward to if its true - Much to be because of the return of Brady and T.O. in a Bills jersey

A bit surprising to start the season on monday night, but seeing that the two stars of each team in the spotlight, its not a total shocker..if true

This will be awesome if true. And TO gets to renew his 'who is the real 81' rivalry up close and personal with Moss. But imo its no contest - Moss is the man!

Who's the broad in your Avatar?

Patriots - 1-0, Bills - 0-1. Hopefully the return of Tom Brady to the public spotlight is an awesome one.

Thanks for the update. That's good.

I'm happy now.

As long as the return game isn't in late December or Toronto.

I teach on Monday and Wed nights next semester. Class ends at 9:30.

Wheel TV into classroom. Announce "Okay, class...tonight we are going to learn about [insert course related topic] and its practical application in American Football by watching the ALMIGHTY NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS GREATEST NFL TEAM IN THE UNIVERSE!"

You're welcome. :)

It really is good timing for us with Lynch probably suspended and QB/WR timing between Edwards and Owens not likely to be there yet. Also as Springs has a good history vs. Owens, being game one there's a high chance Springs will still be healthy (no sarcasm nor negativity intended but he's older and gets hurt some).

The only downside is that our Week 2 will be on the road after a short week.

Even better, they reported on SI.com that TO, the Bills big free agent signing, was a no-show today at their first day of "voluntary" workouts. Apparently he's getting his timing down elsewhere.
