At least your uncle is happy. The way some people are reacting to Cassel at ChiefsPlanet it's like we gave them Harrington for three #1s.

Reiss says the paperwork has been filed with the NFL, so either the 3rd team has been involved all along, or there is no 3rd team.

Grabbing the #3 would be great, because when Stafford drops to #3 after Curry and J Smith are off the board, a team like SF will trade their #1 for the #3 and gives us a 2nd rounder or more to boot.

How would you guys like to land, say, Everette Brown and then have four or five picks in the second round, another three in the third round?

Turning down the #3 is like turning down a romp with Gisele's modeling buddy because you have no intentions of marrying her.

Hmm all this speculation of a third team has made me think of Julius Peppers.

top draft picks aren't that expensive..........mayo at #10 is a 2.2M cap hit

#10 isn't #3, and 1st year cap hit is artificially low and misleading and part of the problem with the whole rookie payscale. The top 5 guys are getting upwards of $30M+m guaranteed. Brady's never gotten that. Manning did 7 years in. Several of those have recently shown to be of about as much substantive value as a 7th round project...more are good but not great players.

well the paperwork could be cassel to chiefs. doesnt mean cassel agreed to terms with the chiefs so a new team could enter those sweepstakes with the chiefs.pioli could be a genius if he gets cassel and then trades him to someone else for another high pick.

Agreed. They would need to have a special player at certain positions to want to draft that high IMO.
