Even the Raiders would have patience if that's all it was. He's looked like feces. He's gone from being 'the man' in the secondary to getting picked on. He's learning a new style of defense. He's stuck playing for the Raiders.
It's not surprising that he's struggled. Talent-wise, he's worth a look. Character is a different issue, and it's one where I defer completely to Belioli.
Well he's cleared Waivers. My money is on Dallas, Denver or New England.

As for the man vs. zone argument, the Pats need a guy who can play man, especially in 3rd-and-5 and the like. The Pats have historically been able to plug in JAGs in their zone bend-but-don't-break and be competitive (see 2004). Why bring in another guy who can't play man and is a richard on top of it all?

Chris
Now that cornerback DeAngelo Hall has gone unclaimed on waivers, look for him to make a decision in the next 24-48 hours.
Teams that are expected to be interested in signing are the New York Giants, Washington Redskins, New England Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers.
“It’s rare that one of the top players at his position in the game comes free now,” one of Hall’s agents, Joel Segal, said Thursday. “DeAngelo can be a missing ingredient for any playoff contender that needs a cornerback.
“He’s excited about his potential opportunities and helping a team try to achieve its regular-season and post-season goals.”

Vic Carucci was on WEEI this afternoon and he said that after talking to Tom Dimitroff about Hall he just couldn't see a scenario where his mentors in NE would hire a guy their prize student just cut this spring because he was totally unwilling to buy into either the system or the mirror culture that was being installed in Atlanta. Which is how he landed in Oakland in the first place. Hall is a self absorbed ballhawk who likes to freelance in zone and cares more about his stats than his team. He was not interested in playing zone within the bounds of discipline under a new HC. Nor did he have any interest in trying to adapt to playing man in Oakland once he had his bonus money.
When Ty was younger he and Bill had to go around a bit to convince the ballhawk that he could still flourish within the system, the difference being the team would also flourish. Took Bill a couple of years to sell Ty on that concept entirely, and to this day he resents the system getting credit which is the other reason he's never returned. He wanted to prove that it was all him... You're not going to get much out of a player like Hall on an half season prove it deal playing for a defense predicated on discipline and trust and forgoing personal stats for the sake of team and scheme driven wins..
You bring up alot of good points, I dunno if its for sure but there have been multiple reports saying the Pats are intrested in Hall and have contacted his agent. I think the next step is Bill and Pioli both have to sit down with Hall and see where his heads at, I think if there pleased in what Hall has to say and comfortable he can work within the system then theres a good chance he signs with the Patriots, im just not getting my hopes up, time will tell...
Multiple reports often start with one legit mention of interest, though.
I say we start a thread stating that Hall was just seen being picked up in a limo at Logan. Lets see how long it takes before it becomes the headline on a certain website
They already fell for that re: Lynch. I don't see it happening twice, lol.

"Multiple Reports" would not include anyone in the Patriots organization. We all know how they do business when it comes to stuff like this.
It's his agent, and of course he wants the info to get out so it will drum up more demand for this fraud of a Football Player.
How about this. We start a thread saying that an 18 yr old ex-cheerleader was seen chasing Hall around Boston with a sharpy.
I was going to ask why you dislike him so much, then I saw where you're from
Personally, I don't know much about him, so whatever Bill does is fine.
