Ticket Exchange. Why the reason for the overabundance of seats?

Re: Ticket Exchange. Why the reason for the overabundance of seats ?

When Tom Brady got injured, the season ticket holders began

to leave the sinking ship. They put the highest priced tickets

in the NFL up for sale. Why pay top dollar to see Matt Cassel

play instead of Tom Brady. Fair weather season ticket holders.

There are 700 seats available for the Rams game this weekend in some of the best seats in the stadium. Thats not a lot of seats to be put up. There are over 50000 names on the waiting list. why are these tickets still there ? Sure some of the season ticket holders are spoiled. But all the guys in my section went thru 1-15 and 2-14 seasons so it's hard to use the term bandwagon with them. I'm sure a lot of the waiting list guys are legit but there is no reason for 700 seats to be available for sundays game with that many on the waiting list if they are Patriots fans first.

Re: Ticket Exchange. Why the reason for the overabundance of seats ?

There were tickets available from the start of the season. I went to the KC game and had seats in Section 128. I couldn't believe my luck, but similar seats have been available for every game thereafter. But it had NOTHING to do with Brady going down and subsequently out. There are perhaps more available now, but there were face-value tickets to be had for every home game before the season even began.

Not a trust fund but you can afford to take these trips more if you live in your parents basement.

I recommend you delete your post. The Internet stereotypical mythos of posters living in Mom's basement will haunt you forever.

I bet a lot of the season ticket holders never even check the ticket exchange because they don't know about it/remember it is there or figure there will be no good seats.

Re: Ticket Exchange. Why the reason for the overabundance of seats ?

As a season ticket holder, I have other things in life and simply can't attend 8 games. I usually make 5 or 6 - sell the other 2 or 3 to friends since under no circumstances will I trust someone I don't know well with my seats.

This year, there is little interest in those games I can't attend so I went with Ticket Exchange. Part of it is Brady but more of it is the economy. The guys I have sold to in the past would go tailgate on a Sunday afternoon in September/October at a HS game. This year they don't want to spend the $ on tickets and parking and tailgating. I can't blame them.

They are your tickets you can do whatever you want with them

I would snap up one of those tickets but:

1) my passport ran out and
2) I really don't have the money for airfare and accommodation. :p

I plan to make it over in 2010 or 2011.

Edit: There is very little doubt in my mind that some people don't want to go to Pats games if they think they are going to lose. There is also little doubt that some people can't afford to go.

I think its a mix of both, in terms of my family my uncle (the season ticket holder in my family) hasn't gone to a game yet this year which is extremely extremely rare, but he's a teamster and has had to shift between companies due to the poor economy.

In my case, that is true. Friends of mine are always looking for tickets. Until the other day I forgot to check at the Ticket Exchange.

I agree Scottie. But what happens after TB is gone in the future ?

I don't know, my brother. I would hope we all hang out and grow old together.

I live in Atlanta and have been to two games so far and I'm going to two more, Pittsburgh and Indy - and that was my plan before Tommy got hurt.

To that issue, the stadium has been SOLD OUT since Kraft bought the team, pre Brady. Maybe the fanbase is now SO spoiled that there will be a massive dropoff. I doubt it, if the Pats continue to entertain by winning.

Spoiled??? What are you talking about!

We are not spoiled! If we were people would be complaining about being 4-2 and *****ing about having our QB named AFC Offensive Player of the Week and wondering why we have not won every game. Spoiled? Puhlease.

For those who believe it is more performance or Brady based than economy based, I suggest you check out stubhub.

There are an unbelievable number of tickets to the church of Lambeau that never happens. There are a ton of tickets for the undefeated Titans and world champion Giants. I don't care what game you want to go to you can get tickets.

It's the economy.

Do they not sell Club seats through the exchange? I'll be going to the Jets Thursday night game and being from warmer climates, it might be nice for us to have the option of going indoors if it gets really cold.

suck it up like most people do, you'll be fine after a few beers

I've never seen them on TicketExchange. I think those seats are over $1000 a piece anyways. I could be wrong.

Re: Ticket Exchange. Why the reason for the overabundance of seats ?

It's pathetic if that's truly the reason. Some kind of fans, eh? Maybe we're better off with whoever ends up replacing them at the game.

i think it has to do more with the economy. some people just cant afford it anymore. I've been watching ticketexchange almost religiously all year and it wasnt this bad earlier in the year. But once the stock market hit the ****ter, tickets are available in almost every section to many games. What is even more indicative of the economy is the fact that these tickets have been sitting there for two weeks now. Which is good for me becuase I got 7th row seats to the jets game. It doesnt help that the team isn't has had its struggles this year but I honestly cant blame these people. There are a lot more important things in life than the patriots, and if season ticket holders need to cutback in this time of economic disfunction, I have no problem with it. It allows for people like me and the thousands of other season ticket waitlisters to get out there and watch the team

Red Sox playoff tickets were offered on Ace ticket and StubHub at face value during the Tampa series. The Globe ran an article about it concluding that the fans were spoiled, just as is being suggested here with regard to the Patriots.

I don't think anybody is spoiled; I think people are worried about the economy.
