my game recap FWIW. fellows chime in if you please

-Iam not really surprised by the result, thought we would win a close one or lose in a blowout and it happened.
-I was surprised we were able to move the football on the first drive. i thought the chargers d with their talented secondary would shut us down.
-We ran the ball very well in the first drive that too on 1st down. For some strange reason McD called that pass play to moss on the sideline on 1st down ending in 3rd and long. I think McD is confused between calling plays for a rookie QB vs a rookie who has sat for 4 yrs.
-probably McD's worst called game
- the 3rd and 3 or 4 before the half with kevin faulk in the I formation was one his worst calls masked by the goal line package. really cost us 7 pts difference there before half time.
-Our o line is the key to the future of the season. they are fast line who had to block just enough for brady. For cassel they need to step up.Has been said before that other team members need to step up to account for brady.the o line needs to block longer for cassel.he isnt going to become any quicker to make a throw.
-speaking of o line, we need a blocking TE.Watson doesnt cut it.
-Pass rush was weak but the chargers WR got open so quickly that it didnt make any difference
-We shut down the run, thought that was +ve. we havent been good against the run even vs jets and SF. somehow a lot of that was forgotten.
All in all a forgettable night. The denver o line is even better than SD so our corners are going to be under more pressure. i think BB will play the SF type game with 7-8 DB's if we can find healthy ones.Offensively, i wish they play dink and dunk and just run the ball and play ball control. enough of this 'trying to stretch the field ' stuff which just is good for highlights. we have won by playing the short passing game and runs and we should protect cassel that way .

The Patriots were flat as a pancake for the 2nd time in five weeks. I think they gave up once the offense failed to score the TD on four attempts from the 1 yd line.

according to Rodney, they did. I gotta say, his comments really bothered me. The game wasnt out of reach at that point, and he's saying that the wind got sucked out of the sails. Hell, they couldve been down by 4 td's, and they should still be playing hard. The colts wouldnt have laid down. I thought Rodneys comment might be telling us something about the mindset of the team right now. I HOPE IM WRONG.

McDaniels is getting exposed this year. Extremely unimaginative, predictable, slow to adjust. By the second half of the San Diego game I was calling most of his plays and where the ball was going before it even happened. I don't think he self-scouts himself.

It's pretty bad when we fans can predict a run to the left

He runs the same 5 plays, over and over, almost like he's playing a Madden game. If a casual observer like me can pick up on it, you can be sure the opposing defense knows what is coming.

Seemed to me the scheme of the defense was to shut down Tomlinson, and they did a pretty good job of that, but they were so focused on him that it opened up way too many opportunities in the deep passing game.

San Diego's pass defense did a very good job last year against the Pats, but they came in to this game ranked dead last in pass defense. The Pats inability to exploit that, the way other teams have this season, was disappointing.

it wasnt a bad plan, considering chambers was out and gates was hurt. just didnt work out. if they had played the scheme like the SF game then LT and sproles wouldve run wild.
