Sorry, when did Jordan look great with Brady again?

hey great job nitpicking instead of understanding the greater point - guys like Welker and Gaffney were pure JAG's wo Brady. or, they were ok players...but certainly not stars

Chad Pennington and this years fins are just as good if not better then the Chiefs. Im not pumping us up to be world beaters. I just honestly feel that the game never gets to that point at the end if we have a kicker. A kicker gives us the pat we could not go for, the chip shot FG we missed earlier and better field position for our opponents then the 40.

Hate to break this to you but against a reasonably competent defense that second TD on the aimless hail mary never happens, it's an INT.

Except that you're wrong about Welker. The reason the Patriots went after him is precisely because they didn't think he was a JAG.

I hate to break it to you but with a kicker, you know what the other 31 NFL teams have, a 4th and 13 at the 18 is an easy FG

The Chiefs were one pass of tying the Pats.

Only because of one blown coverage play. Otherwise, the game would have been over. Besides, the Pats did have to deal with losing their franchise QB in the first quarter. That means they had to scrap their original gameplan and make one on the fly. They weren't going to let Cassel air it out like they were going to let Brady.

The Jets at pretty much full strength was one pass away from losing to the Dolphins.

If you want to play the if game then I could say if.....

1)The jets had a kicker they add a definite 3 points on a chip shot FG
2)If Damien Woody does not get called for a false start on 3rd and 2 we have a game ending first down on a Jones 5 yard run

in 2 years with Miami Welker averaged 48 catches and 567 yards. with the Pats he caught 112 passes and had 1175 yards. which do you think is closer to what he'll end up with now?

So, you are saying that if the Jets had a kicker, the game would have gone into overtime? If Nuggent kicked a field goal instead of passing for a TD, the Jets would have only been up by 3 at the end of the game. Instead of Pennington throwing a pick with 3rd and 10 at the Jets' 18 with only 10 second left, the Dolphins would have kicked a field goal and brought it into overtime.

As much as I want to believe it (Pats can win SB), I'm sorry I don't see it. To me this day was even worse than imaginable after watching San Diego and Indianapolis, our two biggest rivals, stink up the joint at home against also-ran NFC teams, specifically Indy, but the Chargers weren't that good most of the game either, despite losing on the last play.

That BB did this with Brady before is irrelevant since Cassell isn't 10% of the player Brady is. We didn't know what Brady was at the time. But I'm pretty sure Cassell isn't coming in and doing that. If anyone wants to believe that, power to them, but I can't.

I do think maybe the Pats can make the playoffs, that's about 50/50 for me now. But I don't see how they can get a bye, and I doubt Cassell is capable of winning 3 playoff games in a row to make the SB. If people think it's more than a coin flip, maybe, but to me that's underrating Tom Brady.

Brady going down trumps all that. I am more than happy to take away the ifs game. See how the Jets would have done if Favre went down in the first quarter and Mangini and Schottenheimer had to revise the gameplan on the fly for Clemmens.

The Jets have really taken a shine to Favre, eh? Now you all cry about how everything is against you too? :D

(team ribbing, of course - and I HATE Favre)

In between... He also didn't have BB and the pats coaching staff in Miami... so yea.

About halfway I'd guess.

I can take the ribbing. At the end of the day the same ol' Jets thing to do would be to lose to Pennington. that alone gives me hope.

His Patriots' numbers, clearly. As I said, the Patriots signed him because they didn't consider him a JAG.

By the way, when you deliberately averaged 29 and 67 catches together in order to have the first year pull the second year down, your argument pretty much lost any credibility you might have thought it had.

we are looking at 9 or 10 wins. if we catch a ton of breaks, we can make a deep playoff run.

but some of you are overrating the offensive weapons. Randy Moss is the 2nd best WR of all time, yes. but Welker in Miami - ie with an average or below average QB - was a JAG. Gaffney was on the street. Jordan was cut. these are guys who anyteam could have had for free or for a fairly small price tag. they all looked great with Brady.

Said JAG still caught six passes today, and may actually be more valuable to the Patriots now.

Or the Bills absolute manhandling of Seattle. Honestly, the fact that the Bills look like a 10-6 team worries me more than anything else in the AFC.

Don't get riled up about that game. Seattle have been overrated for years. The reason why they are in the playoffs every season (which they usually lose in the 1st round) is because of that pathetic division they call the NFC West. I am expecting the Cardinals to be a tougher opponent than the Seahawks.

I think we're ignoring something. Randy said he kept watching the tunnel for Brady. Do you think he was the only one?

The team all had to be mentally tough to even do what they did.

Deltha O'Neil, Ellis Hobbs, Mike Vrabel, Randy Moss, and Matt effin' Cassel stepped up to make this a W.

The rest will catch up, too. There's a rough mental battle to be won and the small victories will mean a whole lot more this year.

Jets Suck

Welker's amazing short game is now going to be money in the bank way past what it was last year. A few games in Cassel gets comfortable and the telegraphing goes away. Cassel to Welker and Moss all day. :D

I agree and today's win will help a lot with the mental battle of potentially loosing Brady for a period of time....
