The New England Patriots bolstered their defensive line depth on Wednesday by re-signing veteran Carl Davis Jr.Â
ESPN’s Field Yates was the first to report the news as the Patriots made the transaction official on Thursday morning.
The specific terms of Davis’ contract were not disclosed publicly. Â
After battling injury during his first season in Foxboro in 2020, Davis bounced back to play in all 17 to go along with four starts and finished with 19 total tackles and one sack. He was inactive for the wild card playoff game against the Buffalo Bills.Â
Over his seven NFL seasons across five teams, Davis has played in 56 regular-season games with 17 starts while totaling 54 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and three passes defended.Â
Davis later tweeted out his reaction to the news of his contract agreement. Â
