The New England Patriots hit the road for their first away game of the 2021 season while also seeking their first win of the year against a New York Jets team starting their own rookie quarterback under center.
Entering the game, the Patriots had won their last ten against the rival Jets dating back to the start of the 2016 season.

In the first quarter, the Patriots defense applied early pressure to Jets quarterback Zach Wilson as two interceptions led to 10 points after one.

By the start of the second quarter, it was more of the same for Zach Wilson who threw his third interception of the game and second to cornerback J.C. Jackson.

The turnover helped set up a Damien Harris rushing touchdown that had shades of Marshawn Lynch’s memorable “beast mode” score a decade ago.

As the third quarter wound down, kicker Nick Folk etched his name into the Patriots record books after making his 32nd straight field goal, surpassing the previous record of 31 set by Stephen Gostkowski.
Through three quarters the Patriots led 22-3.

In the fourth quarter both the Patriots and Jets swapped field goals to conclude the scoring as Nick Folk added to his record.
