James White’s Father Passes Away In Car Accident, NFL Community Reacts Over Social Media
Quinn Harris - USA TODAY Sports
On Sunday evening, a report by FOX News 640 host Andy Slater announced the passing of James White’s father Tyrone in a car crash in South Florida around 1pm that day, he was 59 years old.
White’s mother was also in the vehicle and as of last night was still in critical condition at the hospital along with a third passenger who’s condition remains unknown at this time.
According to ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss, “when deputies arrived at the scene, they found two crashed cars, one flipped over and the other on fire. Deputies and firefighters extinguished the blaze, and an air rescue team transported two people to a hospital.”
Tyrone White Sr. was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
“I’m extremely saddened after learning of the passing of MDPD Captain Tyrone White earlier today as a result of an off-duty traffic crash in Broward County,” Miami-Dade Police Department Director Alfredo Ramirez said Sunday on Twitter.
White was inactive for the Patriots loss to the Seattle Seahawks after learning of the accident.
Michelle Tafoya reported on NBC that Robert Kraft offered to fly James White to Miami, but White decided he'll fly home with the rest of the team.
