I can't find it now.. but I read an article about the Bears offseason needs, much of the focus was on Briggs (yada, yada, yada)...
The interesting part was a comment from Jerry Angelo that stated they like to have their roster pretty much in place before the draft. This allows them to take the BPA and increase the depth / quality of the overall lineup.
This may not be news to some of you but I found it contrasted with the approach a lot of teams have where they rely too much on the draft, chase a position of need and end up with less value and less overall depth.
I will keep this in mind as the Pats build their 2007 roster.
