Fields traded to Steelers

Awesome. Now we don’t have to hear all the ******** about him coming here.
Fields would be a lot more exciting than Brissett. There is nothing at all to get excited about for this upcoming season..nothing

Played better than Jones for a good stretch there. And Pickett was drafted what 20th to Jones being drafted higher.

Played well enough to get run out of town in 2 seasons, even Mac couldn't manage that

We're in real ****ing trouble if we draft a QB who doesn't know how to take a snap under center.

Like, move the franchise to Antarctica kind of trouble.
Moving to Antartica might be a good idea. Think of the home field - or is it home ice - advantage.

This tells me the Stillers aren’t actually sold on Russell Wilson either. I don’t see Wilson as the mentoring type. Fine by me to see that team remain dysfunctional.

What you mean Jones couldn't manage that?? Have you been here all season?

fans turned on Jones between last year and this year. Radio host turned on Jones last year, and now teammates turned on him...Mayo had a press conference which Jones was there and people were pist that he was there...lol

Not the specific player, but there's already a board, or do you think that's put together a few days before?

Right, predictability and the fact that the asset can help the team win now makes current draft picks more valuable than future picks. This is the reason why when a team swaps a current draft pick for a future pick that they get a more valuable future pick back. Typically a 2024 3rd round pick will fetch a 2025 2nd round pick.

Of course, they're not sold on Wilson. The Broncos just ate 85 million to get rid of him, and they weren't happy with Wilson in Seattle either.

The Steelers were less happy with Pickett. They're trying to figure out a way to remain competitive, and get lucky at QB.

Mac, 3 years in New England
Pickett, 2 in Pittsburgh.
A 1st rounder washing out in 2 years is significantly worse than one that washed out in 3. An entire year worse in fact, and that under the supposed better conditions in Pittsburgh.

This kind of logic is why these GMs dont last. A 4th is a 4th regardless of what year it is. Jumping through hoops to devalue it doesn't make sense to me.
This is a complete lack of knowledge of draft pick value, used by every team, on your part.
If a team were to offer the Pats a '25 1st to move up, it would have the equivalent value as the 48th pick this year. That's how it's done, whether you disagree is irrelevant.

Jones sucked, Picketts ended up sucking. at the end of the day he still did more than jones.

Nobody is frowning on the Steelers for how Picketts ended with them..

Besides Jones sucking on his own, people still point out how BB and the Pats didn't do him any favors with how he was coached.

I've heard the phrase "Fields has a higher upside" for three years as he's compiled a 10-28 record as a starter. I guess that is an "exciting" 10-28 record as opposed to the "boring" 12-4 records that Brady would deliver year after year. Fields' fanboys will be saying that he has a "higher upside" when he is in the sixth or seventh year of his NFL career (if he lasts that long) and has added more defeats to the 28 he had already achieved.

We have data that shows Drake Maye was not as good as Mitch Trubisky.
I love UNC…but that scares me.
He certainly was better than Maye and had a much more difficult schedule

Fields sucks. Total bust.
He's not much better than Mac.
Id rather have Brissett.
Funny, that draft everyone thought it was a great qb draft. 5 guys in 1st 15 picks.
So 4 total busts.
And the 1 guy everyone thought would be a superstar had a bad year last year and seems to be regressing.
Guess what? That's pretty much the same this year. These quys are ALL
flawed. Good chance 4 of the top 5
picked will be busts too.
So which one won't? Who the **** knows? Not the draftniks so many of y'all quote like what they say is gospel, when truth is most don't know any more than me. Or you.
Williams,Maye,Daniels,McCarthy( lol what a joke),Penix- those are probably the 1st 5 taken like in that horrible 2021 draft.
Guess what? Lawrence was/is by far a better prospect than any of this years chumps.
And Lawrence is barely better than a jag( no pun intended).
So please draft MHJ.

Fields is a coaches nightmare they want someone to execute an offense they’re all control freaks, Fields ignores easy throws to run around and play streetball, no new coach wants to tie their career to that.

Yeah.. for us it's the OFF-season.. another blunder.. it's just unbelievable..
If BB were still in charge the inmates would be rioting.

But its OK if GM Bob and his posse are making bologna sandwiches.

Gave up 20th and 5th round picks to get to 11th in 2021.
Gave up 1st round and 4th round picks in 2022.

Receives a 6th round pick this year ... even trade no? :haha:

Pickett had a worse QBR, TD/INT %, Y/A, Y/G etc than Jones and all under the supposed better conditions in Pittsburgh.
Your last point actually makes mine. Mac sucked here primarily because he was mentally weak under difficult circumstances, Pickett sucked under what you claimed were better circumstances in Pittsburgh. He did less with more.
