For the price of a 6th I think fields is a better prospect than a gamble with the third choice QB in the top 3.

Either way would’ve been a better alternative than brissett imo, I also don’t hate Jacoby but fields is better than he gets credit for.

Shrug. Mac sucked and we got a 6th for him. Fields sucked and the Bears got a 6th or a 4th for him. I think both teams will admit that their QBs sucked and are glad to move on. The fight over who got more is pretty pointless.

This kind of logic is why these GMs dont last. A 4th is a 4th regardless of what year it is. Jumping through hoops to devalue it doesn't make sense to me.

I think using Chicago as the backdrop for any QB’s career could be unfair.
They haven’t had a legit offense in almost 40 years. Fields is still an unknown commodity.
Brissett is known to suck. If it wasn’t for Parcells talking him up, not sure he’d be drafted or still in the league.

It's not because when the trade is made, the GM has an idea of what should be available in the 4th round for his needs this year. Next year is still mostly a guess.

There has to be some value to that.

We have no need for Fields. We have our practice squad qb, Rourke.

The GM knows that on March 16th, 2024? Sign this guy, he predicts the future.

Sounds about right. He’s a free agent next season? He could of done well for himself to sit behind a vet like Brissett. Instead he will do it behind Wilson who doesn’t take me as a mentor.

Steelers made the playoffs despite being in the best division in football, and having this in their QB room:
Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, Mitch Trubisky
I think Russ Wilson and Justin Fields is a huge step forward.

Played better than Jones for a good stretch there. And Pickett was drafted what 20th to Jones being drafted higher.

He's not, he stinks. Brissett has been a better starter the last 2 years, why would Fields all of a sudden become good?

No, it’s not. The standard value in the NFL when trading is if you defer a year the.cost is a round higher with the pick. This isn’t something fans make up, it’s the way teams value picks.If a team came to the Patriots wanting Rhamondre and the Patriots sad they wanted a third in return, and they came back with a second in 25’ that’s considered the same value by NFL teams.

I don't see what's so special about being able to to predict something that's only 6 weeks away after considering it for the previous 46 weeks. Hell, we're only a few days into the new league year and plenty of folks here already know how bad the as yet to be assembled '24 Pats are gonna suck.

Our quarterback room will be two football players from basketball schools.
One of which kind of sucks at basketball.

We have data that shows Drake Maye was not as good as Mitch Trubisky.
I love UNC…but that scares me.

Would have thought Fields would be worth a 4th / 5th just as a Taysom Hill type gadget player
