Fields traded to Steelers

It’s based on playing time. No one has said more than that yet. A 2025 6th if little playing time, a 2025 4th if he crosses a certain playing time percentage.

So I don't understand your point. The worst the pick can be is a 6th (same as Mac) but it could be as high as a 4 if he meets a to be determined playing time quota.

So my original point was that.

I just wanna point out that Mac Jones went for a 6th round pick THIS YEAR. Justin Fields went for a 6th round pick NEXT YEAR.

The Patriots got more for Mac ****ing Jones after he **** his pants week after week all season long than the Bears could get for Justin Fields.

That should tell you all you need to know…

Lmao. It was even better than I expected. Just went to the Bears board and found out that just like here there was a whole bunch of fans who wanted to keep him and “ take the haul,” for the #1 pick. Turns out that dull minds do think alike.

Laugh my ass off. You can’t make this **** up. .

Actually this is wrong. The pick can be as high as 4.

The Patriots only got a 6th.

In the NFL, draft pick value is discounted by a year. That means a 2025 6th round pick is the equivalent of a 2024 7th round pick. Mac was traded to Jax with the expectation of sitting on the bench and got a 2024 6th rounder. That’s more than what the Bears are getting if/when Fields sits on the bench, they’re getting the equivalent of a 2024 7th rounder. It would be upped to the equivalent of a 2024 5th rounder only if he actually plays which is unlikely. So for everyone complaining about how poor Mac was and how poor of a return we got for him, the league viewed Fields as even worse.

Im not gonna debate this kind of nonsense.

I'll take the higher pick regardless of draft year.

Would you rather have a 1st round pick in 2024 or 2025?

Depends on alot of things. What's my cap look like? How deep is the draft? How many roster slots are open?

I understand your point here and what you're saying.

So I'll ask you the same question

Would you rather have a 6th round pick this year or a 4th round next year?

How the **** are the pats letting the Steelers get this guy for a 6th??

Better take MHJ in the draft now.
These types of questions need to be asked.

That’s not apples to apples because it’s conditional. All things being equal, in your example I’d take the 4th next year of course. But if there’s a 5% chance of a 4th next year and a 95% chance of a 6th next year, or a 100% chance of a 6th this year, I’ll take the 6th this year. If the odds are 50/50 that’s different, but do you really think Fields is going to beat out Wilson?

Anyway, I’m curious to find out the exact conditions.

I'm still gonna hold judgement on Fields cause he played for the bears. Not like we knew what to do with Mac Jones when he was here...

Fields is in a good place w the steelers..and and..

Right now, the steelers QB room>>>>>>>>Pats QB room.

If it's a 6 vs a 6 then I take the 6th this year. Obviously.

Bill's defense was torched by this guy. At home during prime time.

Exactly that’s my point bro I think fields is decent. We should have gone for him.

Saw an article noting a source said the expectation from the Steelers is Fields doesn’t compete for the starting job and will learn from Wilson. Uh, what? You think this kid doesn’t want to compete?

Cheers to hoping it injects poison and splits the locker room over who plays and who doesn’t if things go south, because… F the Steelers!

That depends upon the condition. Could be playing time, could be a new deal, we don’t know. But a 25’ pick means a 4th is considered a 5th.
