Great job on FA day three! Pleased with the front office?

need a FS, a press corner, and defensive lineman. I have said that about 5 or 10 times. Not sure how you could have missed that.
I asked who, not what.

FS - Did you want McKinney? Simmons? Savage? They should go after Simmons at this point.
DL - Christian Wilkins? Leonard Williams? Armstead may be a good short term option.
Press corner - None available. The CB's available that used to be press man are washed up.

Can we be honest and admit RK is cheap? The Pats are last in cash spend over the last ten years so I would think it is obvious that RK is cheap, but I undertand it is a conflict of interest for you to say that.
That's certainly not a thing. My site, my little space online for this place. On the rest, I'll wait out these next couple of weeks and see what things look like, along with who they draft next month. But context matters, and I at least get why what happened today happened. At the same time, it's also a reminder that they've definitely got their work cut out for them, so we'll see how it goes. Otherwise, get some rest - I'm out, still two days left before this week is over and that alarm clock is never late. ;)

I wanted McKinney because I think he is the best ballhawk. But Simmons is OK. Even Curl is a HUGE upgrade for us.

Armstead would be great. We signed Watts. Watts is a bargain. Did you miss that? A typical BB signing which turns out to be a typical RK signing (Robyn Glazer), but we did not know that until BB had left.

Not true on press corner. Witherspoon was good last year, Gilmore is better than anyone he would replace, and Awuzie was available.

I'm getting Beau Allen vibes with that signing.

Can't argue that.

Here is the reaction posted after I disagreed with you, almost 100% opposed. There is no way you can say that you have not sanitized the board. I am not saying that sanitizing the board is right or wrong. God forbid you accuse me of having an "ax to grind" or "being angry" - I am sure you do not say that to influence any of the other posters ;) . Too funny.

(Tell u what, you clearly are just full of hatred for the team, coaches, owner, and fellow fans. Seems like a great time to find another one to follow. It’s year one of a rebuild…it might get worse before better. Not sure you have the constitution to handle that based on your unhinged ranting.)
I think you have to be 18 to post here.

That's the only explanation for a post this childish.

Hilarious. You are right. Remember when Beau Allen was going to save the day? You got me on that one. I had completely forgotten Beau. He was the best value signing of all time according to the Boston Sports news guys. Too funny.
Can't argue that.

Youse guys are not excited about having the most cap space in the NFL over the next two years and signing Nick Leverett and Armon Watts? What the f@ck is wrong with you? @thecore762 and @203Pat are still telling us how amazing this FA is and they can not wait until the draft starts. BB is fired and we are still being outbid on WRs by teams that have no cap space. Amazing that Kontra and Dingelberry are banned and this has become the Orchids of Asia message board.

This guy gets it

lol no he doesn’t.

We have the experience after 2021 to see that throwing money to bad players just for the sake of throwing money because you can, isn’t working.

I think what the Patriots are doing is the right approach. Don’t over extend yourself on bad player because you can. They targeted Ridley gave him a fair offer and I am fine with them letting the Titans gave him an absurd contract that they will regret in a year or two. I am fine not going after Williams. The guy is a turnstyle at LT. He is a RT and that’s where the Cards will play him.

We resigned all of our good players and got some depth pieces. Now go to the draft, take a QB at 3, an OT at 34 (if no Smith) or a WR (if smith) and a WR at 68 and reassess after 2024. With the cap space that you still have in 2025 FA because you didn’t spend it on C- players, the team will be able to target specific and hopefully players because you’ll have a year to see how your draft pick have developed.

It makes no sense for me to harmstring yourself with bad contract on bad players just for the sake of spending. I think it’s more important to give you the flexibility in the coming years to react based on the development of your rookies and more importantly your rookie QB

While I understand your logic and agree with it, the Patriots aren't going to field a competitive team this year unless they nail the draft.

It's ok to hold the Patriots accountable for their lackluster additions, even if you AGREE there was no one worth chasing.

We're not in the business of giving them a pass for continuing to lose.

The draft hasn’t happened yet and the last time I checked we have for now 0 losses in 2024.

I don’t get being that worked up without even seeing a down of football.

Regardless Tyron Smith is still available, as Mike Williams. A trade for a WR is still possible. I’ll start judging them based on the product will see on the field in September.

Because I'm using my ability to project what I'm seeing and using context clues over the last 5 years to understand what we're dealing with here.

Unless they nail the QB pick you can expect next year to be slightly better than this year.

And only because it's going to be hard to be worse than 3rd worst team in the league.

This free agency has been pretty good for Bill Belichick.

1. Poor drafter? The new team focused on re-signing his key draft pieces - Dugger, Onwenu, Jennings, Uche. The best young players on the team are recent draft picks - Barmore, Gonzalez, Stevenson. The issue is probably that the fails have been at key positions.
2. Wasted cap space in 2021? The new team prioritised bringing back Hunter Henry and Kendrick Bourne. Judon and Godshaux remain key pieces too.
3. Soft approach in free agency last year? Seems pretty similar this year - focused on value signings at OL again along with a failure to make big splashes. Maybe this was a Wolf/Groh plan last year too.

A lot of continuity in the approach so far, except we have lost a great tactical football mind.

I am still in a wait and see mode about FA, Draft, and this all new regime.
But as the old relic that I am I would like to give Mayo and Wolf, who are so young, so relatable, so ZGen-friendly, so ... whatever, an advise. For free.

Do not fuel or buy the hype
Manage expectations
Speak for yourself
Do your job

Discaimer: I am not a forever BB guy. I wanted him gone between 2018 and 2019. Because his judgement was clearly compromised. Not because of the way he conducted business. Which I did support. And still do. 100%.

Okay, so they get good draft picks in 2025. That's what they need to build the roster. Sure, losing is frustrating to watch but that's where the team is.
