Great job on FA day three! Pleased with the front office?

The Pats aren't one player away. Not with Mayo (not yet at least) and not with BB.
I thought most here have accepted that the goal is to improve this year and be a contender for the playoffs next year.

I guess now the goal was to spend $100M in the first day of free agency,

For all the criticism, if we are able to sign a LT, FS and WR, SOME would think differently about our prospects. Some, of course, would criticize this also, They would simply say that we could easily done better, with zero evidence than anyone other than Uche wanting to come her to play, if they have a close choice.

For me, it would be great if we are to get our QB, OT's, WR and S by the end of the first day of the draft. That would be a HUGE step forward.
=============
For me, the biggest unknown with regards to our success in the next year is the quality of coaching. Are they good enough to coach the new QB room, the new WR's and the rest of the new Offense?

When it came to your responses to me, it was clear that there was an axe to grind. And it's cool.
No axe to grind. No idea what it is "clear to you". I have never spoken or PMed anyone on PatsFans. I have no idea who anyone on PatsFans is in real life. But when @thecore762 psoted his "things are great after Day 1 of FA" post, and no-one disagreed, it was clear that this message boad has been bleached. I do not see how you could not have had the same reaction. That is OK, you can come home and feel good. Look at all the "dislikes" to my post, it is very telling of how PatsFans is now. But you think I have an axe to grind. Wierd.
You're right - because I let things go and I'm pretty lenient with people on here because I get that everybody's different, and people have different personalities. I get people who get annoyed with me for that, but I can't ban someone for being annoying/irritating or for having a difference of opinion. With the exception of a couple of extreme situations, and those occurred after a lot of conversations privately to avoid that.
I have never had a private conversation with you or anyone else on PatsFans. Kontra messaged me once and I responed one time, and after that I ignored him. The wierdo in NH, I forget his screen name, message me once and I ignored him. Otherwise I have never messaged or spoken to anyone on PatsFans and have no idea who anyone is in real life.
Yeah, when I referred to the "F-you" that was metaphorically speaking. If I ask someone to stop doing something and they opt to purposely ignore it and keep doing it - ie: starting political threads in the main forum over and over just to mess with me, that's essentially what they're doing and it's an issue.

I'll give you that one - because it's relatively accurate. Although I would probably be less of a bore but more annoying after several beers.

Yeah, that was essentially for the people out there who think I have nothing better to do than hop on here looking to start fights and impose any so-called "agenda."

This is such an out of left field conversation, that I don't even know how to respond to this.

But in the case of that situation, no, I didn't start it. No, I'm not apologizing, and no, I'm not reinstating him. And in terms of "reflecting" - if a person goes out of their way to make my life difficult and then gets upset when they're ultimately removed, it's too late.

So it's over and done with. Wish it never came to that, but it's on him. And I'm not going to apologize for something I didn't initiate.

It is not about apologizing. Sorry that is lost on you. But you have said the same thing reapeatedly, so I am sure you are mistaken but honest.

(Tell u what, you clearly are just full of hatred for the team, coaches, owner, and fellow fans. Seems like a great time to find another one to follow. It’s year one of a rebuild…it might get worse before better. Not sure you have the constitution to handle that based on your unhinged ranting.)

People the disagree with you are "full of hatred". Too funny. Maybe people have a different opinion? Grow up.

And before the response I'm expecting comes, I am the only person here who can impose a ban from the board. Mods can't do that, and that's so if there's an issue, I'm the one accountable for that.
Yup understood that. No response that you are expecting will come.

Reactions: Ian
Geez, this free agent class sucked overall, and really sucked on offense. they made the sensible moves that were available. $92 million for Ridley is insane. I'm glad they're not panicking.

Trying not to overreact but I’m feeling much less content after day 3 than I was after day 1. I want to see more urgency and aggressiveness. One certainty, however, is that the pitchforks would be out in full force if this same free agency haul occurred with Bill running the show.

Less content after Day 3. Too funny. Less content. What does that mean? Less than what? You are feeling half empty? I love you man.

I’m reading between the lines here. Using that gif means you’re letting Kontra back in?
Those 2 guys were part of our fabric here ...
I do miss their opinions and craziness ... but I respect what Ian has done here over the years.

As for free agency ... I do wish Minshew came here but not losing sleep over it.

You came on here clearly angry about it. I've known you the better part of almost 15 years and this is certainly the more bizarre exchanges we've ever had. As far as the opinions go, I don't know what to tell you. There are people upset with how things have started off in free agency. I've responded to several people who aren't happy with similar things I've said to you, so I don't know what you're talking about.

The team simply isn't good right now, and they're facing an uphill battle until Mayo establishes himself and they get a viable quarterback.

Never said you did.

I've re-read the previous posts. You asked me to apologize. You then told me I needed to reflect on that decision. I've already thought about it more than I care to.

The bottom line is that regardless of where I'm mistaken, it's still over and done with, and it's not happening. Again, I take no enjoyment in anyone no longer being here, but it is what it is.

They're not panicking means they signed no-one of significance with the most cap space in the NFL over the next two years?

You came on here clearly angry about it.
I am going to stop responding after this. No angry at all. That is your reaction, please stop projecting.

I do not know you and have never met you. We do not know each other and have never met. I have no idea what you are talking about.

I do agree with your overall premise. Building through the draft is easier said than done and lots of teams that play the "long game" have been doing so for 30+ years. And Robert is showing a bad trend of being cheap and it started with him lowballing one of the best RB's in the league in 1997 with Curtis Martin. RB's like that in that era don't leave teams that early. His departure absolutely wrecked those late 90's teams.

So with that said, who would you have liked for the Pats to sign and were you okay with the contracts that have received?

Thanks for the question. I have been clear with repeated posts. I beleive the path forward was laid out in 2001 to 2004. It starts with a top 5 defense while the offense is built. In the 2024 FA, the best players were all on the defenseive side which is ideal for the Pats. We need a FS, a press corner, and defensive lineman. I have said that about 5 or 10 times. Not sure how you could have missed that. After signign the defensive FAs, which we did not do, we should concentrate on the offense in the draft for two years. I am repeating myself, as I have posted this strategy 5 to 10 times.

Sorry, we've exchanged posts on here periodically for the better part a decade. I guess I noticed those, and you didn't. It's more than just a forum to me, as are all the people on here. Because I'm weird like that.
OK. It is your message board. You need to come home and feel good.
No, I just need to come home and not have to waste time having to mediate or deal with petty/stupid situations.

I don't really know what the point of all this was, but hopefully in some of the posts above some of it made sense. Maybe it did, maybe it didn't.

Aside from that, I feel like we're in agreement the team stinks. They can't sign anyone, because unlike 2021 - there's no Bill and no one like Newton is here to distract people from the roster. We'll see if they can overcome that and that changes in the coming weeks.

But I have no desire to find something else to do from August until next February, so I'll see who they have by the end of April, and I'll form an opinion from there, and see if what I thought becomes reality in August. And like every year, maybe I'll be right, maybe I won't. But that's the joy of the NFL - and hopefully it will at least be slightly less painful that it was last season.

Nest year. So funny. What can I say. The guy that wants a perpetual rebuild. Some people always want to fix things but nothing is ever finished.
When did I say that?

One last comment after I said I would not respond . Haha. I guess that is what angry guys like me do?

It is not because "there's no Bill and no one like Newton". Can we please be honest? Please, please, please, can we be honest? RK is cheap, Pete Carroll talks about bologna sandwiches and that is not lost on players. It is real. Let's be honest and admit it. It is not BB being frugal or wise. The players know that the owner is cheap so they do not want to come here unless it is their best offer or last resort. Can we please be honest? The NFL is a small community, the player's agents all know each other, and the agents all know which owners are cheap. Can we be honest and admit RK is cheap? The Pats are last in cash spend over the last ten years so I would think it is obvious that RK is cheap, but I undertand it is a conflict of interest for you to say that.

Nobody's excited about Leverett, Watts, or Okorafor. But if you can't sign top-tier guys, you have to at least continue adding mid-tier guys and throw bodies at positions of need while you try and explore other options. Sort of is what it is...?
I am pleased that they did not sign ridley for 24 mill a year. They kept the 3 guys they had to in Dugger, Uche and Onwenu. I am good with Hunter at 3-4% of the cap than I was with him at 7% of the cap. At least they did not take a step back and they are picking up depth pieces that are incrementally better than the guys they will replace. Even with one of the top rookies at QB this year we will be lucky to finish out of the bottom 10. They need to sign a placeholder at LT such as Humphries or Tyron Smith. Kind of upset that they could not bring Rankins in though.

I do not intend to be mean. But you are kind of upset they could not bring in Rankins? Did it occur to you that they did not bring in anyone? Basically the Pats signed their own FAs, the BB guys, and no one else of significance. But you are upset about Rankins? And not upset about everyone else they skimped on?
