Welcome Jayden Daniels! Pats next qb

I’m so torn in this draft as who is the best QB,
I think once you do your due diligence you move to 1 to get your guy.
Can’t get this wrong.

Oh yes. Yes, they can get this wrong. You are "torn" simply because none of the rookie QBs in this draft promise immediate help and the Patriots offense NEEDS immediate help. That is why the team should trade down to maximize draft capital toward addressing multiple pressing needs or take someone who can make an immediate impact like Olu Fashanu.

Build the freaking offense first. Sign a transitional veteran QB and perhaps a developmental rookie quarterback prospect later in the draft. The savior you covet is nothing more than fantasy.

A cautionary tale:

Daniel's has a lot of throws where that Lacey guy makes plays. Not a lot of plays where it looks like he reads coverage and makes a quick throw. Not sure he is the guy.

Yeah, I'm not gonna pretend to know for sure if he will pan out or not like some other future tellers on here, but I'm cautious on him. I think I'd rather take MHJ tbh. I think he's the closest to a sure thing in the draft.

In '21 Zach Wilson was pick #2 and Trey Lance was pick #3, not sure of how any NFL team can measure the intangibles of an NFL QB...
With that being said, like the Daniels pick..

I dont think Daniels is necessarily a bad pick but I don’t think he’s worth the 3rd overall choice. The better option would be to select Marvin Harrison jr and then trade up into the teens and I believe he would still be available. I think there’s a sizable gap between Williams, maye and then the rest of the other quarterbacks. Daniels was graded by some as a day 2 selection. Could he succeed in the nfl? Absolutely but he probably needs to bulk up some more. He does have a smaller frame compared to other running qbs like a Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. It’s not a bad pick but I don’t think that’s a good selection at 3.

All you folks talkingg about MHJ and a qb, who the heck is playing tackle in this scenario?

Qb with 1st picks allows for a talented tackle in the 2nd....

This is a novice and probably useless opinion from someone who hasn’t watched too much college football but I like the dual threat athleticism of Jayden Daniels.

Caleb Williams would be the obvious pick if he’s somehow available for us.

OK...and who is the franchise QB throwing to him?

If you saw every LSU game you people who know Malik would know it’s NabErs, not NabOrs.
Big deal, I put the wrong vowel down in spelling NabErs last name. If that's all you got to offer on the subject, why bother interjecting? Jeez...

I watched Daniel’s take brutal hits and bounce right up,, and he runs like Micheal Vick. He was ripping off 70!-80 yard runs. He’s got a really good arm, makes off platform throws, makes good decisions, and he’s the best athlete in this draft. To me it’s an easy decision, if he’s there you take him.
Yeah but you just ignored my point. It isn’t about durability, it’s about lower body strength, where most of the throwing mechanics are generated from. Quads, hanstrings, glutes, calves. Brady clearly was very developed despite his reputation for being skinny…upper body like biceps and chest are really overrated at the position.

The traits you’re celebrating are great for the college game but these rarely translate well to the pro game.

If the Bears stick with fields (I believe they will) Washington will prob make a play to move up from 2 to 1 for Caleb Williams. Chicago will take MHJ at 2 leaving us with the decision between Maye Daniels and Penix.
or Pats move to #1 and Chi takes Harrison at 3

Well, maybe Daniels can get the best out of Tyquan Thornton and the Pats can become the New England Twigs. Could give new meaning to the term "snap."

1st round QB's are like a 1 in 3 success rate. No matter what. You just can't know until he plays for 1-2 years.
Year 1 is typically a dumpster fire where the guy makes his bones.
