Welcome Jayden Daniels! Pats next qb

Mahomes was a sudden draft riser.
More often than not, it doesn't end well. Mitch Trubisky leapfrogged a clearly better QB and National Champion in DeShaun Watson for absolutely no reason. Zack Wilson and Trey Lance did the same rising up boards for no reason. Teams continually fall into the trap of overrated QB's just because it's the most important position on the team.

Only thing about Penix is that hes got a beast of a Oline giving him 5 seconds every drop back and Odunze/McMillian to throw it to. Makes it much easier.

If he lights it up against that Michigan defense tomorrow his stock is gonna go up

Do not want I want to see a QB with little to no time make it happen.
Would love to see Ewers declare for the draft.

Quick someone name a QB who succeeded in the NFL with a skinny ass and twig legs.

Tom Brady. He was 6’4 211, and Daniels is 6’4 210. And like Brady he can easily put weight on in a pro program.

While it’s still too early to know who the best pick would be I really like the idea of the Patriots playing with a really athletic QB. I don’t know if he would start his first season, but it sure will be fun to watch when he does.

Buyer beware of the sudden "draft risers". This is a tactic teams use to bait a team ahead of them to take that player.

You mean like Joe Burrows? I read a Draft Countdown Mock in December of the year he came out and he was going to the Patriots in rd2, and he ended up being the top pick and a franchise caliber QB. And he was an Heisman winner from LSU. Anyone can miss, or they can make, depends upon the prospect and the program.

Stay as far away from Daniel’s as possible. That guy sucks and nabers bailed him out all year.
You sure as hell didn't see too many LSU games then. Sure, Nabors made a lot of nice catches this year but he didn't bail him out all year as you claim. I saw every one of his games this year and there was nothing wrong with his passing game. He had good zip on the ball, good finesse and touch when needed and a good feel for the pocket. The only negative is that he definitely needs to work on his lower body strength as his frame looks as thin as Tyquan Thornton...

Just saying though TB12 was drafted as a catcher for the Expos. Lower body strength is there. That concerns me more than durability. Weight is distributed differently with different players.

If you saw every LSU game you people who know Malik would know it’s NabErs, not NabOrs.

I watched Daniel’s take brutal hits and bounce right up,, and he runs like Micheal Vick. He was ripping off 70!-80 yard runs. He’s got a really good arm, makes off platform throws, makes good decisions, and he’s the best athlete in this draft. To me it’s an easy decision, if he’s there you take him.

The decision on BB needs to happen ASAP so the new GM and coach can start to do their due diligence for the top of the draft.
Arer they firing the entire staff.

There will be several analysts in house who are already working on due diligence regarding the draft, especially QB's and OT's
and perhaps WR's (a waste of time).

Finally. A tall mobile qb!
There are many QB's to be considered who are projected to possibly be drafted in the top half of the draft. There is some consensus on the top two going in the first 5 picks, along with Harrison. If we are head over heels with one of those three, we will consider the other four QB's and consider trading down.

Of course, if we think that Daniels is a top 5 draft picks, as some think, then perhaps our staff will think so also, and draft him at 3. Of course, one scenario is to be sitting at 3 with Harrison still there. I expect that AZ will give us a lot to move up a spot, and then we will again be in the driver's seat.

Also, those medicals..I believe he’s had about 4 season ending injuries & he’ll be 24 when the season begins. I also wonder how other teammates would acclimate to a left-handed QB. I do love the player, though.

Speaking of top QBs : Williams, Maye, Daniels, Penix, all of them have their own weaknesses. Once again, there is no golden formula to choose a franchise QB. However we definitely have a problem with that position and none of our players is a solution. I guess we will grab one of them and hope he stays healthy and develops properly. With all these stats and experts opinions sometimes a bit of luck is a missing piece.
