Falcons open to trading the number 4 pick.

Pitts is the second best player in this draft and a total nightmare matchup.

he should be near the top of the Atlanta draft board and would be an excellent pick!

except that lance will probably be on the board at 4. In three years, lance could develop into the best qb in this draft or he could be working at McDonald’s!

option 3 is Atlanta trades down and stock piles some picks to help their defense and especially get some edge rushers.
Fields may also be on the board, and that may mean the offers to ATL will be hard to pass up.

On the ground here in Atlanta, there is a lot of speculation from the beat writers that the Falcons are going to take Kyle Pitts. He is viewed as a generational talent within the organization and that pairing him with Julio and Ridley would cause nightmares for opposing defenses.
That would make a lot of sense but trading down would probably be smarter if they can get something near what Miami got for 3.

Fields may also be on the board, and that may mean the offers to ATL will be hard to pass up.
2 of fields, Wilson, Lance, Jones will be there so teams looking for a qb will definitely be making offers to Atlanta.

What ever Atlanta does, it’ll probably be the wrong move.

Cross out Mond and Trask who have only talked to McDaniels, worst talent evaluator of the entire BB era. Other QB's, maybe OK but no extra 1st round pick thrown in to get the person, it's so risky that no 4th choice QB is worth multiple picks for. Go for DEFENSE or OLine in the 1st round if they don't know.

Yes, of course. The Patriots always keep an Offensive Coordinator on staff so that they can ignore anything he wants in the offense he intends to run.

I mean, maybe - I'm guessing here, pure speculation - Bill Belichick's opinion of Josh McDaniels doesn't really square with yours.

Yea and in a massive coincidence Patriot drafts have SUCKED exactly from 2005-2008 and 2013-now, when specifically Josh McDaniels was present. And while he was gone he decimated the Denver Bronco's roster, lost 10 games straight, packaged 3 picks to take Tim Tebow in the first round, then went to create the WORST offense in the entire league 32/32 in St Louis in 2011, before crawling back to ride Tom Brady again. Let's keep discussing this.

Yes, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know...

Wait really, is that true?? So he has 6 superbowl rings, was offensive coordinator for 3 of them. But the reason the Patriots drafts suck when he is there has nothing to do with the fact that they were drafting bottom 2 almost every year he was there, had great teams with very few if any holes to fill, and went so far as to trade picks for veterans, were trying to eek out the last few years with an aging qb and had multiple picks stolen from them by the NFL. Or it is just he is an idiot. Ok got it all figured out now.

Many years ago, I was working in my 2nd story office in Bangor, Maine when I heard a commotion out on the street below. When I looked out the window, I saw a van parked down the street in front of a book store. The van had on its side bold lettering saying “Stephen King killed John Lennon”. Yes, according to the van’s owner, one of America’s most renowned authors and Bangor’s most famous resident was responsible for the murder of one of the world’s most renowned musicians.

Months later, Election Day 1992 to be exact, I was working alone in my office when a man appeared at my open office door and came in and sat down. It was the owner of the van. He proceeded to regale me with his tale of conspiracy including how Paul McCartney had called out to him between songs at a concert in Modesto, CA to not give up and get “Justice for John”. I just nodded as he spoke and eventually he got up and left.

Sometimes, Dropkick’s posts about McDaniels and his tenacity on the subject remind me of that visitor from so many years ago.

Has anyone ever seen them together?

Bracketing Lance and Jones is a joke. Lance played 1 game last season. Jones had an unbeaten, National Championship winning season with an all SEC schedule. I know some people put all of Mac's success on Smith, Waddle (who barely played) and Harris but for me they come across as people who probably didn't actually watch his games.

If we're talking about dropping an extra draft pick to get a Front-7 defensive player or O-Line prospect we really like, then OK. The team knows how to draft these guys, has a good track record.
I hope that is still true, but remember that it was Dante who was scouting the OLine talent. Is he fully retired by now? If so, I would not be so sanguine about future OL picks; picking for the OL seems a bit like a black art. You cannot, say, rely on a three-cone drill. Can he block in space? Does he have, cough, cough, good hands? Is he a snow plow on running plays? Is he a tough, ornery SOB?

Here's my criteria:

1. Does he shower less than three days before a game? If yes, don't draft.

2. Has he gotten into a bar fight while being the only patron in the bar? If yes, draft.

Obviously blocking technique is in there somewhere.

There are hundreds of articles I could pick from chronicling McDaniels being hated in Denver, worst team builder ever, so many draft mistakes and trade mistakes. Also so many examples from 2005-2008 and 2013-now in New England. I love it when someone challenges the fact that McDaniels sucks at talent eval and wanting to debate this. I can go all day and all week.

.
You can definitely go all day, all week, and all year, problem is that you only have a couple of facts to back it up, the rest is all anecdotal and hate. Tim Tebow Tim Tebow Tim Tebow..................................Tim Tebow Tim Tebow Tim Tebow.................

Oh? That's awesome. No sources you can link to, talking up Mond and Lance? Are you by any chance a graduate of John Carroll University? Just curious based on this wealth of evidence.

.

Nothing for Lance.
