If this was September 2014, that trade probably would have been considered even by the national media (of course, college players cannot be part of NFL trades).

Have not watched him much but he was the #1 pick for a reason and if BB thinks he can harness his physical talent he'd be worth a low dollar flyer. If he'd be willing to take a low base contract with some incentives to re-establish his market value it may be worth a shot.

I got a good feeling about Stid the Kid!!

Kraft and Winston would be a perfect match.

I'd definitely put Winston and Brisett as 1a and 1b on the list. Cam Newton, if healthy, probably over both of them otherwise go with Kessler. I think Winston having the GOAT of coaches coaching him will help him a great deal.

The first member of the 30/30 club. What could go wrong?

Signing Winston is a totally outside the box move. That said, BB has done unpredictable things before, Gordon and Brown being the most recent. Desperate times lead to unconventional moves.

Newton would make More sense than Winston.
Honestly I prefer Bortles to both.

In draft Herbert Hurts and Mcdonald warming up to Eason.

I don't want a guy that threw 30 picks. I don't want Cam Newton either.

Winston is a TO machine.
Anathema to BB's style.
Winston does not have the love of the game drive.
Anathema to BB's style.
Winston does not respond to coaching.
Anathema to BB's style.

Well he did have eye surgery in the off-season....

I don’t know. Sure, sign him. Whatever.

This is the darkest of times.

I would rather just go with Stidham.

Jameis has been massively turnover prone his whole career and has been a losing quarterback in the NFL.

It won't matter who the quarterback is if the offensive skill talent stays the same.

I don't think half the board is aware of what a "rebuild" is. You don't spend a bunch of money on a sh*tty QB if you are looking to rebuild.

Not that I really want Winston in NE (I'd rather stick with Stidham), but the criticism surrounding Winston for the 30 INTs is getting blown way out of proportion; especially when he still threw for 33 TDs and 5000+ yards.

With that being said, I looked up the list of QBs on PF...

Current search:

For single seasons, from 1970 to 2019, played QB, requiring Passes Intercepted >= 20 and Passing TD >= 25 and Passing Yds >= 4000, sorted by descending Passes Intercepted

3 Drew Bledsoe 1994 4555 25 27
4 Eli Manning 2010 4002 31 25

16 Jake Plummer 2004 4089 27 20
17 Philip Rivers 2011 4624 27 20
18 Carson Palmer 2007 4131 26 20

So, yeah. I'd say it's still reasonable to suggest that Winston -- with a good coaching staff & in a more conservative offense -- could still develop into a solid QB. So, if you can get him at a low price, it wouldn't be bad for NE to sign him.
