Brady gone

I dont think byron leftwich is going to call plays for Brady. Brady will bring his system.Wont be surprised if tampa swings a trade for a current or former pats offensive coach.

How do all the other teams pull off such a miracle as paying their QBs and the talent around them?

By not being competitive for 20 straight years.

Fair enough. I don't really know who Darlington is so I assumed he was making a joke. The "proximity to NYC" thing for Tampa made zero sense to me and Tampa is a bad football team.
Proximity to NYC actually makes sense in the context of there being only three realistic options for him to sign with, in the event he decided to leave: the Raiders, the Chargers, and the Bucs.

LA is 2,700 miles from New York (~6 hour flight).
Vegas is 2,500 miles from New York.
TB is 1,100 miles from New York (~2.5 hour flight).

LA and Vegas are in Pacific Time.
TB and New York are Eastern Time.

Brady just bought an apartment in NYC this summer. How long it takes him to travel back and forth there seems very relevant. If his family stays behind during parts of the season, being in the time zone makes is easier to stay in touch. If he played from one of the west coast teams that's a three hour time difference between him and his family.

Curious if Godwin is going to get pressured to give up #12. Would be a very bad way to start things off but TB12 is the biggest player brand in the NFL so I could see a little push by Brady to get it if it is possible.

Spoken like a true buffalo troll .....or a wanna be Patriot fan who is unable to think beyond this season.
Been a Pats fan since I was a kid of the 80’s. I am thinking beyond this season and I see a lot losing seasons with no quarterback. Think early 90’s

The difference between winning and losing in the NFL is extremely small. Arians isn't 5% of the overall coach Belichick is.

Over the course of a 16+ game season, those little details in preparation will have a massive impact. And that's not scratching the surface of coaching, culture, management, and preparation beyond just the head coach.

These aren’t exclusive to Belichick, though everyone acts like there’s one incredible coach and 31 total idiots.

Unless they tank this coming year but that’s not in bill’s dna. He rather go 6-10 or 7-9.

Did I miss something? Is the GOAT coach and winner of 8 Lombardi's leaving?

My question is whether Arians will give Brady 100% control of play calling even if the quarterback struggles to adjust. Arians seems like he is petty in the media and wants complete control (but what coach doesn't). I'm just not sure Arians will be comfortable giving Tom the latitude that a player (and ego) of his calibre demands.

Brady and Belichick understood each other. Brady will have to give more with a new coach and declining play/physical tools. And I just don't know if giving/compromise are in his dictionary after becoming the GOAT.

A few losing seasons are great for rebuilding. Nothing is worse than 8-8 in this league for drafting and attracting free agents. Time to buckle in and make sure to pump money into the scouting department.

Yeah. And did well with him. And he's a speedster who needs a quarterback with a big arm.

It's hardly dispositive but don't be surprised.
How is this considered good?

Andy Reid also got his Super Bowl and probably will earn a few more with Mahomes. Reid had some doofus choices in prior playoff runs but is still a master strategist. He isn't "Belichick" tier but I would wager he is one of the lone great coaches in the league. Tier 3 is John Harbaugh and Sean Payton followed by a cavalcade of dunces that resemble a game of Mario Kart.

I dunno exactly how to word this (yes, I know, you're shocked to know my vast intellect has limitations)

-Tom Brady is the best QB of all time. It is entirely understandable for your appreciation of him to transcend any mere mortal player.
-Bill Belichick is the best coach of all time. It is entirely understandable for your appreciation of him to transcend any mere mortal coach.

I actually, genuinely think that both Bill and Tom have entirely reasonable positions. Tom wanted more to ensure his last couple of years weren't wasted like last year. Bill almost certainly has a principle that players play they don't coach or have say in personnel choices.

Brady + Belichick was a combo the league has never seen and will probably never see again in our lifetime. The ultimate pairing of a coach and player who had insane work ethics and prioritized winning over everything else and possessed of the willpower to even sometimes make the impossible happen.

I wish there was less agenda-driven posts and snide comments bemoaning either Bill or Brady and more just outright appreciation for what we had and a reasonable goodwill towards a player who left it all on the field for longer than he had any right.

I'm over it now. I'm looking forward to next season. Both watching the pats and watching Tampa.

ATM, there aren’t that many great coaches. Who do you like ? Can you name 5 coaches today who will be remembered in 20 years ?

I'm still in denial

Crap

You’re really not seeing the reason why Belichick has 6 championships and Reid has 1?

Brady has a shot at a superbowl next year, BB does not. BB will have a shot before he's done though.
