I was actually thinking about a trade for a serious FB but am too lazy to search what's on sale..

With such unstable WR/TE/OL situation thats the trade that would make most sense to me - significant & cheap asset.

This team will need some serious running game going forward..

Sounds like this bought Tomlinson one more week until they need a spot for Harry. Or Izzo's situation is also fuzzier than they expected.

Bennett always counted against the team. Being able to make short term roster space by suspending a player yourself would be abused.

Clearly Bill saw the thread about Tomlinson's good game and had a last minute change of heart.

Maybe Izzo or Lacosse to IR next week

Now this is odd. They were realeasing him and than changed their minds and released (IR) Gordon.

1) Maybe it is about the roster spot.
2) It is not about money. JG is still on the books (at least for now).
3) They could keep him untill next wednesday and cut him.

Maybe Izzo and Lacosse are not ready and they needed the extra roster spot after all?
Was JG the 53 player on the roster?

I don't mind this move looking just as a football perspective. I like and cheer for JG as a person.

Because once you stash them on IR you can’t bring them back this year.

I’m curious, if the Pats cut Gordon from IR can they later re-sign him as a free agent? Or would he have to go unsigned by the rest of the league, then sit for some period of time? Or what? And how do any of the options play against the cap?
