On to the Jets!

The Jets always play us tough at home, so I expect a close game. With Gordon out, I hope Dorsett is ready to go. By the way, is it just me, or has Gordon been having a rather mediocre season to date? With Burkhead dinged up as usual, I hope Harris is finally active on Monday. Just saw a blurb that Jeremy Hill is trying out for an NFL team. Glad his ACL injury is behind him. He would sure look good in the Pats' backfield, and he already knows the system.

NE has the top scoring offense and defense in football.

Not sure why many are so concerned about the Jetskies. Game will be over by mid 3rd quarter.

This is true, but those stats are a little misleading. The defense and STs have scored TDs as well for this team. The offense is not good right now, could barely move the ball against some of the worst defenses in the league at times. They cannot rely of the defense and STs all season. This offense needs alot of help. Hopefully we make a trade and Harry can make a good impact, hopefully.

Offense ranks 8th in S&P.

To say it's not good is stupid.

All points count.
How did they not move the ball? they had 27 first downs, 427 total yards and completed over 75% of passes.

Offense has been lame since partway through the Jets game. To say it's good is stupid.

Offense had a bad day in buffalo. 50 1st downs and 869 yards of offense the last 2 weeks.

Offense had a bad first half in Washington, and only pulled away after the 'skins defense began to tire. It was 12-7 at the half, for crying out loud.

Against the Giants, the first score was off a blocked punt, and the second score came on a drive that started from the Giants' 20 yard line following an interception. The Patriots then had one legitimate scoring drive to end the half. In the second half, the Patriots scoring opened with a KVN TD on a forced fumble and recovery. So the Patriots only had 2 real scoring drives all game, against a terrible Giants defense.

So claiming that the offense had a bad day in Buffalo, but has been just ducky otherwise, simply doesn't fit the facts.

There have been 93 games this year meaning ranking an offense in a game is out of 186.

in the last 2 games out of 186 the patriots offense games ranked 38 and 47 in total offense and 16 and 60 in first downs.

there is no definition of bad that those numbers fit.

Interestingly while looking up those numbers I stumbled on to this:
Defensively the patriots had 4 of the 15 lowest yards allowed games and 4 of the top 10 first down allowed game.

A football game is 60 minutes for crying out loud.

You seem to think that for an offense to not be bad every drive must result in a td.
If you want to argue they are capable of more, or have been inconsistent that’s value, but bad is a real word with a real definition and it’s just not the case that as am not offense the patriots the last 2 games have been worse than more offense than they have been better than.

Offense had a bad first half in Washington, and

So then the 49ers offense must be real bad as they scored 0 in the 1st half against Washington

Haven't we known about all three the entire week? Why is the an expected thing actually happening a big deal?

Key point and an overlooked one - another emphasis that the media harps on is why BB won't talk about hurt players...because the answer is blindingly obvious - they have no relevance on the game at hand.

Is it more likely that a player, particularly a skill position player, will be crisper and more fundamental when they get only a few snaps in practice or most of the snaps during practice?

Maybe the 2d and 3d string aren't good enough to win the game, but that doesn't mean you don't coach them up, suit em up and send them out there. What kind of defeatist attitude is that?

I miss the Rex Ryan led jets. Ryan was like the opposite of BB.

I strongly disagree. We are fine with regard to roster spots. It's OK to keep Bulkhead inactive.

Burkhead is a fine player. At very least, he is a backup for the playoffs, and a competitor for the 2020 roster. If he is healthy for the playoffs, he would provide a needed boost, plus injury insurance.

The choice would be to put Bulkhead on IR. I wouldn't do it.

Did it fall off?

He's just wasting a roster spot at this point.

No, I think that if you're going to claim an offense is playing well, the offense should be playing well. And looking just at the stats for your argument, when the team has played almost strictly garbage defenses, when the coach/GM is scouring every bush and rabbit hole for OL, TE and WR personnel, and when every person on the planet outside of the homers on this site has acknowledged that the offense is struggling, is terrible analysis.

Anyone with a pair of eyes, a modicum of analytical prowess, and even a hint of understanding of NFL football can see that the offense has not been good.
