Audience looks uncomfortable as you tap the mic and ask if it is working.........

But it was a good effort, fnord! :D

Scorecard posts are so ****ing boring, dude.

@primetime what's your opinion on who prevails on the guaranteed money given your union experience?

I've read takes that say this situation has never happened before (just like this, 11 days out, right before 1st payment). Also, that it's tough for player not to get his guaranteed $$ since he wasn't terminated for cause so to speak. Team has "maybe" contract language on their side, but their actions (playing him, practices, etc) won't help their cause. Also, language in conflict with way it is applied (i.e. Chung).

They'll probably settle before it goes in front of an arbitrator. This situation does seem largely unprecedented and it's high profile. I don't think the Patriots structured the money in the contract in a smart way and the language is very ambiguous. An arbitrator could rule either way on the "non-disclosure" language, but having dealt with union grievance arbitrators and knowing what they're willing to do and send up to the NLRB or a district court, I strongly suspect an arbitrator in this case would be inclined to find for Brown and the NFLPA because otherwise it would really blast a hole in the concept of guaranteed money altogether and most arbitrators aren't willing to decide a grievance in a way that reinvents a CBA or precedent. They leave it to appeal to the Board or courts for that, but at a certain point the legal fight versus just forking it over isn't worth it to the league, especially with Brown willing to act out.

If I had to wager, I think the Patriots will end up settling before there's even a hearing at the behest of the league and paying half or more of what they owed in the end. Both sides spin it as a win, life goes on. What I'm not sure of is the salary cap implications of such a settlement, if the Patriots get back the portion Brown "forfeited" in the settlement. They might word it in such a way to get that credited to their cap next year, and that's how you'll know the value of the settlement. And that also gives the Patriots incentive to settle. Arbitration, NLRB, etc. could affect their cap if it's not resolved before the end of the league year.

As far as so called "character" or morality or whatever its called clause, they are obviously not applying it the same across the team since Chung was charged with a felony and wasn't punished, yet AB was released for nothing criminal. The texts, imo are not a valid reason to release him.

If your employer tells you SPECIFICALLY not to do something and you do it anyways, hell yes it's a reason to terminate your employment.

By all accounts, Brown was told BEFORE he sent the threatening text messages to the woman suing him to not have any contact with her. And yet, he did. And he threatened her family. And neither you nor I know what he did after the SI article. He could have done MORE and we just don't know. Seems like you are being rather judgmental in your thinking and believing that AB didn't do anything wrong and the Pats are persecuting him unjustly.

You and I have ZERO idea what the Patriots have done in terms of Patrick Chung. The whole explanation regarding the Chung's indictment seems a bit fishy, personally. They found drugs but didn't arrest him immediately? They waited to talk to the DA and for the DA to get an indictment? REALLY?

Just to refresh your memory, the only time that the Patriots have dumped people is when they've been accused or arrested for Violence. Kenyatta Jones. Aaron Hernandez. Willie Andrews. Tom Malone. Christian Peters.

They didn't dump Faulk or Ty Law for their drug issues.

If you are talking about Harvey Langi and his wife , what is your point exactly?

Maybe he means Spikes on his second time around?

Ah yes, they cut him 30 hours after being cited for leaving the scene of a car accident. The next year the Bills signed him and he played that entire year before retiring.

I still don't know his point.

Sorry, can you clarify what texts Antonio Brown sent to Britney Taylor after signing with the team? I'm unaware of this development. Just trying to make sure I'm not rewriting history to fit my own preconceived notion - thanks in advance!

It's been a week and people are still talking about and defending this guy? You dont threaten someone over text...yes the football aspect would've been great on the field, but the media still would be talking about it rather than the fact Pat's defense gave up 0 tds in 3 games. And this week there would be a new incident.

Brady needs to get over it too with his dismissive comments that they "need veterans" and hes "just an employee". Yes brown the player is great, but there is a circus travelling with him. throw to Meyers see if the kid can be a player. He looked impressive with stidham and has made some plays so far

Do you remember the " Red X " thread we had a few years ago? It's hilarious.

NOTICE: Ratings Abuse - Knock it off, Seriously
Yea pretty funny. :p

To me, if something is important enough to disagree with, I would just as soon respond instead of hitting the red x. I have 84 disagrees given which is like 1% of ratings given. Idgaf honestly, people can do what they want.

Like your green banner, looks cool. I'm jealous, hahaha.

LOL...love the pic. What are the chances the Pats re-sign AB if he behaves himself? I know it's "0" but would make a little sense with all the push back from BB and TB and maybe if Kraft has to pay him he'll get his money's worth lol. Don't take this post seriously. It's just that stranger things have happened.

Didn't Brady himself re-post this?

I know he liked it. It's what made me look it up. I'm glad I did. Classic AB stuff. You just never know what he'll do next other than it'll be in the news.
