Yeah, I figured I was probably giving him more credit than I should have.

The Film. It’s there. I can point out specific sequences if you’d like

You taking a jab at me? You don’t even know know my post history

N Keal will be fine not worried about him

The hot takes are already flying below Max Kellerman level.

************.

It wasnt an "unpopular" comment. It was just a ridiculous comment based on nothing. Just trolling it seems.
Are you feeling better now that you had your say ? :).

The point is more like how insane a take it is for anyone to claim that N'Keal is slow, based on 1 rep of 1 drill on day 1 of minicamp. It is a hawt take of Max Kellerman proportions.
You see? He's won! You just used him as an example. Max Kellerman, genius!

Just want to point out that EVERY post in the last 2 pages were WR related. I don't get why there is ALWAYS such a focus on that position. Let's look at the facts.

Before the season one of the biggest question marks the Pats offense had was at WR and that was compounded by the fact the TE position was also in turmoil. So the Pats draft Harry. They sign Harris, Inman, DT, plus have Barrios coming off of IR. So what do we see the first day of passing camp. Barrios looks good. Inman looks good. Harris looks good. See the pattern.

They ALL look good because the talent pool of NFL quality WR's is VAST, while it is much harder to find quality players at other positions. So here's the thing. Stop worrying about WR. This offense has produced 17 of 20 seasons of unparalleled success WITHOUT ever having a #1 kind of WR. (3 years of Randy Moss) It has thrived with various combination of "good" WR's and "good" WR's are always going to be available.

I have no idea which WR's will make this roster. I just know that whatever that combination winds up being, the offense will start slow, but by October be the same productive group that we've seen for the past TWO decades. WHY? Because of one of the best OL's in the league, a plethora of solid 2 way RB's, and the GOAT.

TE and WR? those are legitimate areas to question. But in the end we will wind up with 5 "good" WR's and 3 TE's that will manage to gain around 700 yds and 4 TDs. (which is what we got from the TE's last season)

So hopefully when today's camp reports come out we will talk about something else other than WR's And this will conclude WR rant #436. ;)

Sure. Go ahead. Point them out. Be sure to go over the receivers he had to work with in 2018 as well. I await with baited breath.

Yeah, the usual suspects are already in mid-season form.

I think it's just because the media chose to mainly highlight various WRs for good and bad performances in those "who practiced well/didn't practice well" lists. We as fans can only work with what we're given.

And to be honest, the reason for that is not just the uncertainty at the position, but it's also a pretty easy thing to report on in quantifiable numbers. Who made how many catches, who had how many drops, etc. It's harder to talk about which OL looked good when they're barely doing competitive drills, or how the LB's look when no one is really tackling.

Are you feeling better now that you had your say ? :).
I dont know Max. Shouldnt we be asking you that? You seem to have all the questions and answers.

I looked at the video and tried timing the release to catch times for the three receivers during the drill. It's hard to judge, but they all seemed to be about 2.7+/- 0.1s or so with Jules seeming to be the slowest. The smaller receivers just look like they are moving faster compared to the longer striding N'Keal. In any case, the difference is quite small, and it's certainly too soon to be concerned.
Great. I thought the sky was falling on Harry, turns out it's falling on Edelman. Thanks a lot.

Well, this is a "passing" camp. The more a player is around the ball, the more they will be noticed.

WRs, DBs and QBs get noticed.

Part of me agrees but part of me sees the reason for the abundance of WR/TE post. So many other spots on the roster are known quantities.

DL - Should produce about the same.
LB - No obvious holes. It will be interesting to see how Bentley and Collins fit in, but no one is worried about LB.
DB - Same thing. This spot is all set.

Of course we want updates on how Williams/Chase are doing but even if both bust out (which I don't think happens), the Pats will probably be fine. It would be nice to hear a story about Obi setting the world on fire too but again, not a must have. There is no concern about the defense as far as being ready

QB - Stidham is an interesting story but as long as Brady looks good that's what matters.
RB/FB - This spot is fine.
OL - Wynn is a huge story, but besides where he is medically there isn't much to say.

TE/WR - This is the only spot with actual roster competition implications when it comes to key snaps. While I think the offense will look good come playoff time, the rest of the season matters too. Will it take 2. 4, 8 or 16 weeks to get things all set? Going into the playoffs as the 4th seed or 1st seed is a huge deal and how this spot looks early does matter.

I'm not telling you anything you don't already know of course. But i think this is the year where WR reporting to a large degree is justified.

To its credit, the WR chatter helps take our minds off the Sinkhole that is the TE position, by FAR the worst since 2001 (no disrespect to Wiggie from Eastie, in case he lurks here).
