Jets to ring the Bell?

A couple of thoughts:

1. One of my pet peeves is hearing about a cap space number WITHOUT including the number of players they have under contract. For example if you only have 35 players under contract and are $100MM under, you might be worse off than a team that's 50MM under and has 50 players under contract. The number of players under contract is an important factor in determining the true state of a teams cap situation, yet we rarely hear both numbers in conjunction with each other.

2. Bell would be a GREAT pick up for the Jets for a lot of reasons.

a. He's a player who can bring some excitement to a franchise in desperate need for some excitement.

b. He is a proven producer of yards in both the run game AND passing game. He's a 3 down back who would be a huge help in the development of Sam Darnold.

c. Since they are paying Darnold relative peanuts for the next few years, they can well afford to overpay Bell for the next 2 or 3 years.

b. I'm a big believer in not paying much for RB's and we have followed that prescription for many years. IIRC Cory Dillon might have been the ONLY RB in this 20 year era that we even close to market rates, and that was for only 2 years.

That being said, for the Jets situation in 2019, I think getting Bell is a really smart thing for the Jets to do, because when Darnold is about to enter his prime and get a market deal, Bell's prime with be over and he'll be gone. Then again, I just used the phrase "smart thing" in conjunction with the Jets, so they'll probably pass on Bell. ;)

It would seem extremely unlikely they don't spend some resources on the online.

They've already made some cuts.

I'm expecting 2 signed free agents on the oline, and perhaps a decent investment in the draft. Especially if they trade back.
there's an "online" that the Jete use to get players? Sounds about right for that sub-moronic green turd heap

Are you fools changing your uniforms? I read that you were. Is this going to be a major overhaul or just a nothing-burger?

I know buying new gear is a pain but consider yourself lucky my friend!! You will never know how incredibly expensive it is to root for a championship franchise!!

Yup. Here's a nauseatingly long thread on the topic. Over 3300 posts...
Jets will have new uniforms next year. ***WILL BE UNVIELED 4/4***

Jets finally said they'll be released 4/4.

Hope they're cool. Love the current ones, but gotta keep the kids happy I suppose.

I don't know Ken. This move has vintage Jets smell all over it where they sign a supposed star player, get their fanbase all giddy and that player will plant a giant turd into the garden that is their stadium and never deliver on the contract. Hell if the rumors are true he might even be as fat as Revis was when he returned "home".

It wouldn't be a bad addition to the team tbh. Young QB on a rookie deal. Needs some weapons to work with and a balanced offense. Guy's a diva when it comes to money but there doesn't seem to be problems outside of that
If you have a QB on a rookie contract that you believe in, the stud RB component has proven to be effective short term model.
Seattle...Wilson/Lynch
LA Rams.....Goff/Guerley

Quit on his teammates and hasn't played football in over a year, so he will almost certainly be on the IR by week five. This would be such a Jets signing. I really hope they break the bank for that fool. It would be hilarious. Plus, he's already 27, which is really old in RB years.

If I was the praying type, I'd be praying for this.

A great receiving RB catching 90+ balls would dramatically help Darnold, as well as Anderson, Enunwa and Herdon.
A praying type Jets fan has to have the most faith in the history of the world.

Man, how do you follow that!!!

Leveon Bell doesn't scare the Pats.
That little hesitation thing he does plays right into the Pats gap discipline system.

P.S. Nice guest spot in the SB pregame show for Broadway Joe.

He's mostly not liked on this site, and for us he's one of the bad guys, but in real life he's always been a nice person, accessible to fans. And he definitely deserves to be in the PFHOF.
