Florio speculates a Demaryius Thomas to NE trade.

I wasn't aware of all that. However, I think if Thomas is outplayed by Courtland Sutton or Dasean Hamilton then Elway will cut his losses. He hasn't been playing well this preseason and is 30 years old with a salary of $8.5 million this year and $14 million next year. The coaching staff does not appeared to be thrilled with him. My gut tells me he will be cut.

Demaryius Thomas gets pushed by Broncos' rookie receivers

The thing is, Thomas' $8.5M salary is fully-guaranteed. They're paying him whether they have him or not - unless they unload him AND his salary onto another team. They have about $9.8M in cap space, and that doesn't improve a bit if they cut him.

I'd take him, but it won't happen. Not sure why all the news outlets are going crazy over barely plausible speculation.

Because it's what they're paid to do.

In theory the Broncos enter the season with hopes to make a run at the post season, they have a somewhat established QB this year and a guy they drafted #5 overall that is expected to make an immediate impact. Not sure they would do that but it's an interesting name. About being soft a WR in this offense is expected to make clean catches if he is on the place where he is expected to be, OK that there will be times when it won't be possible to be totally open but anyways it's a much better investment to spend 8 Million on Thomas than Toasty Bryant.

Donkeys are going nowhere with keenun as their QB. I think the league will figure him out this season.

Yes, this is one of those frustratingly silly times when news outlets manufacture a story out of thin air. Speculate, talk about said speculation, pretend the fact that people are talking about the speculation somehow substantiates said speculation, lather, rinse, repeat.

And the world spins madly on.

"one of those ... times"? IDK. It seems pretty continuous to me. :)

Because of his age and contract I’d say it’s super unlikely they get better than a mid round pick for him. Don’t see us trading for him, definitely see us taking a look if he were to be cut.

If he where to be cut i can see a lot of teams being interested.

IF this were to happen, I'd be MUCH more excited about a DT pick up than with Bryant. He has been a legit outside threat for his entire career. That's what everyone here seems to demand, so I'd be fine if we traded for him.

That being said, for Denver this is basically a salary cap dump, so the real plus is finding a team to pick up his salary for this year. Giving up anything higher than a 6th round pick would be a disappointment

I am not a big fan of his drops.

Then again Decker has the same problem.

Living in Denver and I just dont see them letting them go to the Pats...they worked hard to keep him in Denver and Elway caught a lot of local crap when they thought they couldn’t do it.....

Thomas is a good WR but he always seems to come up short in big moments and seems kind of soft to me. I think it could work but he isn't the guy i want making a 3rd down catch in traffic on a big stage.

Hard telling, not knowing.. hunch..not happening:cool:

Wow, surprised at the love affair for him here. Dude sucks and is super soft. Give me Sanders any day!

I speculate Florio is an idiot - no chance in friggin hell Elway is going to deal a solid WR to a top AFC Rival
