Devonta Freeman: We can do whatever we want against NE Defense

I would never put Malcolm glued to Julio, he can shut down Gabriel. My plan A would be: Ryan + McCourty on Julio and Rowe x Sanu.

Sanu works out of the slot so he will be covered by Logan who has really blossomed as the slot specialist. I am thinking Rowe/McCourty on Jones, Butler on Gabriel (very similar physical attributes) and Chung shadows Freeman on the edge.

One way to nullify RB checkdown is to blitz Matt Ryan via A gap. This forces RB to stay in to block or chip. Look for Hightower to do this.

I have perused their board and wow is all I can say. I get they are excited and they expect to win, not surprising. But what is surprising is they are solely focusing on their O vs our D and dismissing our O vs their D and ST's. They truly expect to blow us out.

With that said, I keep hearing about how are we going to stop their running backs out of the backfield, yet no one asks the same question in reverse.

Coleman (31) and Freeman (54) have 85 catches combined.
White (60) and Lewis (17) 77 catches combined. If one cares to add Blount he had 7. But basically 8 completions do not warrant the dismissal.

And I'm sorry Gabriel does not scare me. Sanu is good but its not as if we haven't shut him down as the #2 before.

This is the type of game where a player like McCourty can really make an impact from a damage mitigation standpoint.. Seattle missed Earl Thomas real bad in that divisional round game

Patriots offense is #1 since week 5.

I believe I heard that the Patriots have the #1 scoring offense since week 5 when Brady came back :)

Doesn't seem like that aggressive of a statement, kind of like how the media made Brady's "We're only going to score 17 points? Haha" into some "diss" to the Giants.

It's pretty hard for me to really dislike this Falcons team actually.

Let me know how the Patriots are going to defend the RBs receiving out of the backfield, and I'll tell you whether or not the Falcons will be able to do whatever they want on offense.

For days Ive been saying man w/ 3 S. Agreed about 6+ DB's.

It must be true. After spending a half hour last night reading the message board on the Falcons' team web site I am thoroughly convinced that Atlanta is going to score a touchdown on every possession.

I did search for conversations on the Atlanta defense versus the Patriot offense, but alas, I was unable to find any.

This Falcons offense is getting hyped up way too much in my opinion. They may be good, but they're not some unbeatable otherworldy touchdown machine. Brady and the offense can go toe to toe with anyone in a shootout, but can the Falcons defense stop them?

After Brady's idiocy in 2007 it's good to hear it the other way and think about how that could really be a matter of pride for our defense.

That's my biggest worry, and has been, since the Pats drew them in the Super Bowl. My best guess is three safeties and dropping Chung in the box since none of the Pats LB's can cover either Freeman or Coleman. That opens up the running game of course as the Falcons would counter that smaller front by trying to pound it at the Pats. But Chung is my best guess.
Wasn't that the BB defense when DC of the Giants versus Jim Kelly and the Bills on the '91 Super Bowl? The " if Thurman Thomas gets 100 yds rushing we win game? His meaning was that they took away the Bills Super potent ( sound familiar) passing offense and the Giants did win on Scott Norwood's wide right..

Not 100 but 200 yards was what he said.

I hope we don't say anything. I still remember Brady's response to Plaxico's prediction and I never liked it. It was not like the Patriots at all. It was similar to hubris like this.

“. what Giants football was all about. But now he was saying he wanted to change that for the Super Bowl. “You guys have to believe me,” he kept saying. “If Thomas runs for a hundred yards, we win this game. .”

The Falcon rbs will catch a lot of passes. They will get their fair share of yards. And it won't matter.

That was Tom's body double or he was having an out of body experience. I refuse to believe he was of sound mind and body to say what he did

There's going to be lots of Falcon snot on the field next Sunday ... knocked right out of them.
Julio Jones will be dry heaving by halftime.

Ryan and McC please. No need to use your best corner while doubling, even for Julio. Think Julio is the kind of receiver Ryan excels against as well.
I trust Butler more.
I dont want Ryan to have one of his mistake games especially against Julio Jones.
