Jimmy Garoppolo's Injury Discussion; X-Rays Negative

Well thats great. This team just cannot catch a break with these injuries
They never do. I got into a pretty heated debate about that before the season. They always rack up either key season-ending injuries or nagging injuries. It's a product of playing as many games per season as they do coupled with the fact that they are almost every team's Super Bowl.

Let's just see how he is now and for the immediate future. Tony Romo looked like a Franchise QB until he kept getting injured.
RGIII as well. Takes more than talent to be a franchise QB.

So good to read positive news.

Watching Mitchell dislocate his elbow in preseason and then to have him open back in practice so soon showed my tv medical ability.

Heard part of first half on radio and then had a family commitment and only watched 4th quarter-what a win-Blount and O line dominated. Missed injury and just saw couple rewinds. I didn't see anything other than a big man drove him with great force onto his shoulder. Boomer post game made it seem bad. Again shows a reason why Brady is the GOAT. Other than when his knee was taken out he has been amazingly tough.

Negative xrays is best news we could have now. Hoping for the best.

Texans have a fearsome defensive front. Hard to see even in best case him coming back on 4 days. I don't think the rule still is that you need to designate the quarterback. Mention because the fact he was declared out made me think best case is bad bruising of bone and/or straining of soft tissue.

I think he is worth a 1st half of the draft 1st round pick at least.

Too bad for Brissett. The book seems to be he has good physical skills, leadership, but he needs time to develop a NFL game. Garoppolo similarly had good physical skills (although quite different from Brissett), leadership, but his game needed to step up to the NFL. I just hope if Brissett has a poor outing or two that it does not stunt his growth. Because like Garopollo he was chosen as a developmental qb that could not just be a backup, but a successful NFL starter.

Best we can hope for is grade I A-C sprain (aka shoulder separation - not the same as a dislocation - I know because I have had one) and then he has a chance to play in week 4 but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Just some info

How long does it take to heal a sprained shoulder?

If you have a Grade II sprain, your discomfort should lessen within two weeks, but it may take as long as six to eight weeks before you can return to your usual athletic activities. People with Grade III shoulder sprains often return to work within four weeks.

So if grade 3 there is a chance he can play in week 4 cause athletes are different. If Grade 2 then we won't see him again. Assuming this is the injury of course. It is just 1 of a few options.
Huh? G3 is worse than G2. Even at grade 2, I don't see him playing Thursday.

I think having to come in cold for Jimmy for more than half the game is tougher for Jacoby than Thursday will be.

Assuming Jimmy is out, short week or not, he will get ALL of the practice reps this week.

We're not trading him. He has shown he could be TB successor. Would be dumb move to get rid of a quality QB and possible 10 year starter.

I like Jimmy a lot, but I was really not expecting him to go down with injury in less than two games.

Why the hospital though?

Has anyone checked the "chatter" line recently? I heard he has septic shock and will be euthanized at midnight. We may have to settle for a second round pick as a result.
