Good Mike Reiss article on Gabriel.

I think Gabriel will play a bigger role in the offense this week. He's had some time to learn the system and it sounds like he is doing well.

I love how some have given up on him.

Holy Moly! He's only been thrown three balls.

One was badly underthrown or he would have been gone.

We've got good talent at WR, it's going to take some time togel before they open up the whole playbook.

And people seem to forget that the New England offense is totally different than the Oakland offense. A guy like Donte Stallworth can come in and make an immediate impact because the Philly offense is very simialr to the one he was in in New Orleans.

Gabriel ahs to learn an entirely new offense, and you have to add in the fact that the Pats offense has yet to fully find itself because of all the new faces outside from Gabriel.

Once Brady and Gabriel get their timing down it will be fun to watch, especially in the red zone.

i'm confident too

the recent Gabriel addition and finally Chad Jackson on the field surely improved our WR corp

now let's beat the Broncos !!!
my memory has still in mind the loss @ Den...

Also, he and Chad are not smurfs. Going to be an adjustment in play calling and execution.

Are we still moaning about the one in the end zone with the DB hanging onto his left arm?

Excellent point!Stallworth,Moss el all, would have adjust problems with the Pats.Just as Branch will have problems in Seattle's West Coast scheme as it is predicated on Bigger receivers running slant routes over the middle. He's liable to get killed in this type of scheme.

It must be a chorus of moans because I wasn't to happy about him not catching the pass. I'd give my right arm to catch a TD pass from Tom Brady. Doug needs to take the same attitude.

That was a good play by the defender. That play was not Gabriel's fault.

I just dont see how you can think that was his fault. The defender was right there and knocked the ball out.

A correct observation regarding the underthrown ball. Gabriel was ahead of his defender by a step and was going to beat the safety too. Bottom line, he had run a deep route and beaten the coverage. That's exactly what we need. Ultimately, the ball was underthrown. There isn't anything he could do about that. But IF he is beating coverage an a regular basis, he is doing exactly what we greatly need. Further, one has to believe TB will throw him the ball in a better spot to be caught. The coming weeks will be interesting to see regarding if he will be one of the guys to stretch the field and help keep opposing defensive secondary's honest. Personally, if I am a DC right now, I would play a lot of 8 men in the box against the Patriots. We better find a way to make them pay for that.

I watched the play a few times, and the defender did make a good play, but i hate to say this, but Givens or Branch may have made that catch.

That was a poorly thrown ball with tight coverage. Nobody seems to mention this, but Brady is definitely uncomfortable out there. He has made some uncharacteristic bad plays. His out-throws have been particularly bad.

I agree that pissed me off too. So dissapointing to see that after finally watching him play and being exicted about all the positive talk about him.

I realize it was just a drop, but from what I SAW, that was the first ball thrown his way in the game.

EDIT: oops i just saw that it was the defender who knocked the ball out???? i hadn't heard a thing about that until now. I just thought it was a clean drop.

Absolutely, we've got to prove it. I think The type of receivers call for different routes and different plays.

These guys ain't smurfs. I think Brady's going to have an adjustment period of a few games.

Fortunately, I think our run game will still hurt defenses while Skippy the OC and Tom find ways to exploit their new and bigger "toys".

I really don't care if it hit him between the numbers...i'm giving the guy a break...for now...
