Dinner with Bill Belichick

Thanks for posting. It's always interesting to get a guy like BB with his hair down a couple of millimeters. His comments on the OT rules are really interesting. As someone else asked, any pics?

Can I ass-ume that you mean Kenneth Sims, and not Ernie?
Kenny's nickname here was GameDay, so that should tell you all you need to know about his work habits. And how could a guy who was a recreational coke sniffer have such a weight problem? Maybe he should've did it more often...

Yup I meant Kenny and my apoligies to Ernie.

here is the Pylon

LOL Omygod that's awesome! Thanks, your dad's a lucky man! Too bad we couldn't send it to BB himself, I bet he'd love it!

Not for sale!!!!

Well, maybe, if bb let me be on the sidelines like his kids for a season, i might reconsider!!

You'd probably find out a few days later that BB has gotten a court-ordered restraining order slapped on you.

Exactly......hell, i would be worried if a 50 year old and his sons walked up to me with a life like statue.....damn, i would run.

Great review of the event, I'm jealous!

I love this thread, but I think you should have called it My Dinner With Andre. You may never get the chance again. :)

That pylon is sweet

May I ask how the pylon was accquired? Was it thru the NFL auction site? Or "other" means? :D

He got it thru the nfl auctions site.

He got a SB36 one too but the 38 was in better shape so we chose that to have him sign. We could not find one for SB39 but he did find 2 from the AFC championship game that year.

It happens to me all the time. You get used to it.

The only dinner I ever had with the Patriots I was threatened with death.

Back in the 80s my company bought advt on the Pats radio segment, so my boss got invited to events. A true geek, he opted out and I went. Sat next to Sugar Bear Hamilton & his wife. He left the table and as I eyed his tasty full plate of food, his wife explained the horrific consequences should I give into temptation and steal some of it. "Ray takes his food VERY seriously."

I have to see the statue.
Please post a picture.

I will try to remember to do this when I get home. Problem is I do most of my posting at work. shhhhhhhh.

The Quality sucks because it is my camera phone but here is a pic of the BB art mentioned above...not mentioned is that we have one of TB too.

They all are my prized possessions.......as you can tell, the pylons are actual size, hence you can use them for frame of reference for the Brady & BB.

The works are called aluminations......I bought the Brady myself from a collector and then my wife surprised me for my birthday, after she commissioned the artist to make a Belichick for me!!

The artist that made them name is Osman Karriem Hayes, he was a featured artist for SB 40, which is how I learned of him...here is his site.

So, if I were to take this with me to the next BB dinner for him to sign - I think he might be a little disturbed or know that I am.

And about that recent fundraiser: How in the world did BB bicycle 50 miles? That is no small feat for a man his age who (presumably?) doesn't bike every day.
