Personally, I'd love to see the Pats make a serious run at Free Agent Kevin Curtis (Rams). He's faster and smarter than any WR that I'm aware of in this draft. He's already NFL proven, which is important to remember given the great number of 1st round busts. Plus he's only scratched the surface of what he can do, playing behind arguably the best pair of WRs in the NFL.

However, I think the price tag on him will ultimately be too much to swallow.
That FA money would be better spent on S Michael Lewis or S Ken Hamlin.

Still, I don't believe the Patriots are going to invest high round draft picks at WR. I'd be shocked if they do. What they will most likely do is roll the dice late, on day two, scooping up somebody like S. Carolina's Syvelle Newton,
New Hampshire's (Jerry Rice-wannabe) David Ball or Mike Walker from UCF.

Being a bit bold are we?

Newton didn't do much for his fortune running close to 4.7/40. Walker running a 4.35/40 drew some attention to himself.

the more i think about it. i don't believe the pats will be big players in free agency.
